Horizon Christian Fellowship to host Men’s

It would be a time for worship, teaching, and fellowship at the Men’s Breakfast at Horizon Christian Fellowship (HCF) on June 25 at 8:30 a.m. at the church’s Basecamp.

The church announcement said that male members would enjoy breakfast burritos and a motivating message from Pastor Mike Maclntosh. They added that this would be an excellent opportunity to invite friends.

Rooted Men’s Ministry

HCF Rooted Men’s Ministry has 10–88 men’s small groups, as posted in the church’s men section.

They noted that “10-88” is a police radio code for “request for cover unity.” It is the vision for the said small group of male members. They said they would have the chance to check on one another through devotions and prayer. The website added that they could be secure in the knowledge that they are not running the race alone.

Besides, teams will gather around San Diego for one hour. They aim to connect and check on each other. They also mentioned that this would be their opportunity to use their motivation and pray for others.

Why Men Need Fellowship

According to J.R. Cuevas's article on With All Wisdom website, men’s gatherings must be a priority for all men in the church. Regardless of age, demographic, or life stage, fellowship is crucial to a man’s spiritual health.

Cuevas revealed that those males who neglected such fellowship would be stuck in their growth and could lead to spiritual downfall.

“Men who are strong in the faith are strengthened in their faith by fellow brothers in faith,” Cuevas noted on the website.

He added that men could not be spiritually healthy while not having the fellowship of other male members in the church.

The same website mentioned some reasons why men should value men’s gatherings. They said men should carry loads of other men. There are burdens in a man’s life that another guy can only understand.

He noted some problems in a man’s life that his wife could not carry without breaking. Though women may generally desire relationships with other women more than men, males need this bonding just as much, if not more, as the website posted.

Besides, Cuevas stated that there is a refinement that a man can only encounter when in the presence and fellowship of other men, specifically his peers. He said that as iron sharpens iron, so as an individual improves another.

To refine a piece of iron, people should not rub it against gold or silver; instead, people should rub it against another piece of iron.

Cuevas mentioned that to sharpen himself, a man needs to rub shoulders with another male. The website noted that a man is refined when pursuing his journey right next to someone else with the same goal.

Lastly, Cuevas mentioned that men need male mentors. He said every wife would be glad to know that her husband is being mentored, counseled, and disciplined by a more knowledgeable and well-equipped godly man.

He also emphasized that a woman cannot nurture a man to be masculine.
