The Light Church prepares a special event for parents this February. The Intentional Parenting Conference will happen on February 11 and 12 at The Chapel.

“Raising Passionate, Jesus Followers. “

As per its website, this seminar is a two–day gathering. Light Church hosts Intentional Parenting Conference to provide parents an in-depth, Biblical understanding of how it looks like to raise passionate Jesus followers.

Light Church's event is scheduled for 6:45 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. on February 11 and 8:45 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on February 12. Light Church gave a link for registration.

Signing–up costs $45. Childcare will be provided for six months through fifth grade. However, space is limited.

Speakers Phil and Diane will guide parents through practical ways to raise children who grow up to become all-in followers of Jesus. Participants will have the chance to listen to the stories of others, ask questions, and make their plan for a successful road of nurturing their children.

Intentional Parents International

Intentional Parents International organizes this event. According to its website, Intentional exists to equip individuals across the globe, in their goal to become passionate followers of Jesus, to pass on who they become through their life, marriage, parenting, leadership, and family for generations ahead.

In 2004, Phil and Diane Comer planted Solid Rock, A Jesus Church (now known as Westside: A Jesus Church) in Portland, Oregon. The couple started Intentional: Raising Passionate Jesus Followers.

This one is a way of teaching and training hundreds of young individuals in their church, who are now at the start of raising children on their own. As stated on the website, elders of the church asked them to put together a conference for this purpose.

The conferences are intended for the AJC family of churches and any church that might share the need and desire to equip parents to train their children to be followers of Jesus.

Light Church San Diego

Light Church is a multicultural and multi-generational faith community as per its web page. It exists to receive and express the light, love, and redemption of Christ.

It has two locations for worship - The Chapel at 831 3rd Street, Encinitas, CA 92024, and at La Paloma Theater, 471 S Coast Hwy 101, Encinitas, CA 92024.

Worship happens in–person every Sunday at La Paloma Theater, 9:00 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. While in-person worship on Sundays at The Chapel happens at 5:00 p.m.

Online church is also available throughout the week.

In January 2018, Light Church was established through Benji, and Jennifer Horning, their four kids, and a team committed to witnessing the light, love, and redemption of Jesus.

Benji Horning serves as lead and teaching pastor for Light Church.

His wife, Jennifer, is co-pastor and creative director for this faith community. Light Church for its Justice and Mercy Ministry is engaged to Refugee Care. It partnered with a church in Tijuana, Mexico, to provide care for hundreds of refugees.

Additionally, the church provides help to sex trafficking victims in San Diego. Generate Hope offers a real way out for these women. It is a faith-based organization that gives long–term and comprehensive programs to women who have been sexually trafficked.
