The Yuletide spirit is everywhere. Journey Community Church sends the love of Jesus through The Giving Tree.

Joy from The Giving Tree

The Journey Community Church calls on its members to be the hands and feet of Jesus this Christmas. On its webpage, it announces about The Giving Tree. It invites everyone to stop by the lobby on Nov. 19 – Nov. 21 to provide a gift to a child in Tecate.

Those who want to give hope and joy to these kids can grab a photo ornament or two from the tree. Donations to H.I.S Ministries will help send that child a Christmas gift.

The Giving Tree is a one-time sponsorship of a kid from H.I.S Ministries. Each sponsorship costs $30. With such an amount, children will receive Christmas presents and food for the family.

About H.I.S Ministries

According to its webpage, H.I.S Ministries is a non – denominational Christian organization. Jim and Linda Doss are the founders of this ministry. Jim and Linda established H.I.S Ministries in 1994.

They have been serving the Lord in Mexico since 1988.

As indicated on its Facebook page, H.I.S Ministries is located at Tecate, Baja California, Mexico.

The ministry is affiliated with Journey Community Church. Last Dec. 2019, H.I.S Ministries listed The Giving Tree Christmas Party as its upcoming event on its Facebook page.

Christmas Celebrations

The church presents some fun activities to welcome the Holiday Season. Cookies with Santa and 2021 Women’s Christmas Tea add to the festivities at Journey.

Cookies with Santa

Santa will be visiting Journey on Dec. 4 from 1:00 p.m. – 4: 30 p.m. Journey invites kids to this wonderful event – Cookies with Santa.

This event is free for all Journey Kids Families from little ones through fifth grade. It’s on a Saturday under the Tent @ Journey. Kids will enjoy cookies, make a festive craft, and take a photo with Santa.

Participants can choose from two event times – 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. or 3:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. The church reminds everyone that space is limited, and registration is required.

2021 Women’s Christmas Tea

Another to look forward to at Journey is the 2021 Women’s Christmas Tea. According to its webpage, the Christmas Tea is back! The event is on Dec. 7 from 6:30 p.m – 8:30 p.m. at Journey Community Church Main Auditorium.

The church welcomes the Christmas Season with a ladies’ night out! Journey invites ladies to this event. Light dinner, yummy desserts, special music, and an inspirational message are some of the things that line up for Women’s Christmas Tea.

The event will also feature guest speaker Brooke Lee and another special guest Rheanna Downey. The church invites ladies to join and hear the story of two women.

One is in her 60’s and the other in her teens. Both listened to God’s Word, even when His Word seemed impossible and not easy.

Rheanna Downey

According to her webpage, Rheanna Downey is a San Diego-based singer, songwriter,/ guitarist. She had traveled and performed across the globe for over a decade.

Downey had performed in major venues in the U.K, Europe, and the United States. She released a full-length album, Pull Moon 2011. In 2018, she released her album “ Avenues.”
