The Kingdom Choir is scheduled to perform at San Diego's Balboa Theatre in March as part of their most recent North American tour.

It will mark their sole performance in San Diego.

Meanwhile, the tour will also transport the choir to various cities throughout the continent, including Montreal, Chicago, and Birmingham.

Kingdom Choir

The Kingdom Choir, a gospel choir hailing from southeast England, was established in 1994 by Karen Gibson, a conductor known for her artistic vision and proficiency.

While their performances are rooted in Christian religious beliefs, the group's message of hope and inspiration is universally relatable.

According to the Kingdom Choir's website, they strive to produce a sound that touches people's hearts.

Over the past twenty-plus years, the choir has traveled extensively throughout the United Kingdom and abroad.

They gained significant publicity following their appearance at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's royal wedding in 2018.

The choir's rendition of "Stand By Me," originally performed by Ben E. King in 1961, captivated audiences worldwide, with over two billion people tuning in to the televised broadcast from St. George's Chapel in London.

The performance was conducted by Gibson, who received acclaim as "Britain's godmother of the gospel" for her contribution to the music industry.

In 2020, she was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire in recognition of her influence.

After their royal wedding performance, the choir embarked on a North American tour, even making appearances on popular TV programs like the "Today Show" and "Good Morning America."

Albums

Up until now, the Kingdom Choir has put out two albums, with the first one, titled "Stand By Me," being released in 2018. This album is made up of a combination of traditional Christian songs, including "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing" and "Amazing Grace.”

It also has the group's take on popular tracks like Beyonce's "Halo" and John Legend's "All of Me."

The album starts off with the group's rendition of the title track, "Stand By Me," which is performed in a gospel style with a harmonious approach.

The group's second album, released in 2021, is an extended play album called "Together Again," featuring five songs that are more holiday-focused in nature.

This album showcased the Kingdom Choir's interpretation of songs like "God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen," "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel," and "Go Tell It on the Mountain."

The group's unmatched spiritual energy and rich, layered harmonies make their performances truly unforgettable.

Before their stop in San Diego, the Kingdom Choir will tour Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Iowa for the month of February.

They will also make several stops in cities in Texas, including Galveston, Spring, and Irving.

The upcoming show in San Diego promises to be a one-of-a-kind experience, with ticket prices ranging from $20 to $75.

All ticket prices are subject to change up until the showtime without any prior notice, based solely on the venue's discretion.
