Anxiety Among American Teens

According to an article posted by Newport Academy, anxiety among teenagers is increasingly common through adolescence.

The report revealed that about 32 percent of American teenagers between the ages of 13 and 18 had experienced an anxiety disorder at one point.

The National Institute of Mental Health stated that occasional anxiety is an expected part of life.

Anxiety can be in different forms such as generalized anxiety and panic disorders, as well as forms of phobia-related disorders.

Emotional Wellness cited the statement of scholars from the University of California, Davis.

According to them, emotional wellness involves the awareness, understanding, and acceptance of one’s feelings.

Moreover, emotional wellness is more than awareness, understanding, and acceptance. The National Institute of Mental Health defines it as the ability to handle life’s stresses and adapt to change successfully and in difficult times.
