"From Stranger to Neighbor," Welcoming Immigrants
The Makers Church announced its upcoming event, the "From Stranger to Neighbor ": A Biblical Conversation on Immigration. This event will have Matt Soerens and Hope for San Diego, according to this announcement.
Conversations on immigration through this event will be on March 9, at Makers Church, San Diego Campus. Moreover, the church shared that its purpose is to start a conversation around biblical justice and immigration.
Makers Church aims to provide details about what is happening in San Diego. The church invites everyone to come, listen, and be informed.
"From Stranger to Neighbor," A Biblical Conversation on Immigration, will also feature a talk from Jane Register, Church Mobilizer for World Relief SoCal, and testimony from a refugee community member.
After the talk, attendees can interact with Hope for San Diego's response tables and World Relief. They can also take time to look at art pieces from Art Inspiring Change and indulge in sweets and drinks from the MAKE Projects.
The Makers Church welcomes an optional Entry Fee, a NEW twin comforter for an Afghan family.
Matthew Soerens, Director of Church Mobilization, World Relief
According to his LinkedIn profile, Matthew Soerens has been with World Relief holding since 2015. He was a U.S Church Training Specialist from 2010 – to 2015. Moreover, before these two positions, he served as an immigration counselor.
Matt Soerens served as Field Director for Evangelical Immigration Table from 2013 – 2015. He is co-author of the book "Seeking Refuge: On the Shores of the Global Refugee Crisis.
