Restoration Church is pleased to partner with Hope of San Diego for a Day of Service around the city on July 23 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The church announcement encouraged its congregation to join in serving their community together. These initiatives could show their love for following Jesus.

Members could get involved in two opportunities. They could help in Escondido for the Alabaster Jar Project or join the A Step Beyond program.

Alabastar Jar Project

The church website mentioned that they would renovate the space where women take their next steps in their healing. This place is also where they are rebuilding their lives and finding a community.

The church informed members that they only allow 12 years of age and older to participate in the said project.

According to the Alabasta Jar Project website, they were funded entirely by private financial support. They began helping clients in November 2014 and housing their first two transitional housing clients in January 2015.

Then, by the end of 2015, the organization established its collaboration with the Sisters of the Divine Savior-Hope House. This partnership allows them to open Grace House, as posted on the website.

Today, the website said they are committed to keeping administrative costs under 20% of their funds, with most of their budget going directly to their client care. Besides, they revealed that more than 50% of their staff are also survivors.

For this reason, their workers could add more value to providing quality service to their client care. The website said they strengthen survivors by empowering their peers.

Step Beyond Project

Meanwhile, Restoration Church members are also invited to join in helping the A Step Beyond (ASB) Project. They would host a picnic and run activity stations for ASB families at the Center of the Arts in Escondido.

The church stated that this serving initiative is welcome to all ages.

According to the A Step Beyond website, it is a creative youth development group. They are helping teenagers and their families live at or under the poverty line. The organization provides free after-school dance courses, academic assistants, and social services.

They added that they want to create an intimate, meaningful, and long-lasting connection. So the group ensures their young people's artistic and academic progress. The group also guarantees social-emotional development for these teens.

Moreover, they revealed that they have created a ten-year commitment to help students and their families. These students are from grade three to high school graduation and beyond.

They added that 85% of their youth say they increased their inspiration and interest at school because of the organization’s efforts. 82% of them mentioned that they improved their relationships with others.

Finally, 90% of these youth said that dancing helps them be happy and deal with stress.

Fabiola Elias, Farr Avenue School Principal, said he could not say enough positive things about the organization. He added that he knew its effect on his students’ lives and wished their program would continue to grow. Elias believes more students could achieve their dreams and have hope.
