Rock Church Point Loma will hold its monthly "Connect" gathering for women on Thursday, Jan. 26, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The church’s website encouraged women to invite their group leaders, members, and prayer warriors to attend the monthly gathering. It added those who are not yet members of any group could also use the event to connect with other teams at the rock.
Besides, they mentioned that they aim to allow ladies to relate with other female members every month.
January’s Theme
The same website posted that the theme for this month is about “identity.” They explained that there would be a speaker for devotion, and then they would have a break-out session to have a deeper discussion about the topic.
Rock Church highlighted the Scripture in Hebrews 10:24-25 which says believers should consider how they motivate one another through love and good deeds. The verse said that they should keep gathering, unlike what others are doing.
However, the verse noted that believers should empower one another because the day is approaching.
Women at Rock Church
In another section, Rock Church revealed that their program for ladies is for all generations. They said there is a place for everyone, whatever season of life they are experiencing.
Moreover, the church would nurture and ground them in God’s word. Besides, the women’s program would help ladies find grace and empowerment. They added that women’s hearts could connect with others.
Finding Women’s Identity
The Table Talk website revealed that many ladies are disoriented and feel pressured. They explained that sometimes they forget God’s word and are bombarded by deceitful lies of the enemy.
In addition, they said that these lies tell women that they are not enough for their spouses, families, and friends. They emphasized that it takes an unshakeable discipline to ignore lies with the truth from Jesus’ finished work.
They emphasized the Scripture in Matthew 11:28 to 30, wherein Jesus asked those who worked and tired to come to Him so He could give them rest. Jesus added that He is gentle and humble so that they could rest their souls in Him.
Moreover, the website explained that women should take one foot at a time and walk in obedience.
They said Martin Lloyd-Jones stressed that people should stop listening to themselves and start speaking to themselves about the truth.
Belonging to Jesus
According to the same website, people belong to Jesus and will not waste anything in their lives. They explained that speaking the truth to themselves is the beginning of freedom.
Knowing that they belong to God, their Father, and their faithful savior, Jesus, could help them find their identity. They added that the truth could give them peace and security that is not of this world.
As further explained, while they rest on the truth, they could rely upon the yoke of Jesus and work hard to live for Him with His given grace. They said that as they speak the truth of who they are, they could have a transformation in their hearts.
