This coming April 22 – 24, Skyline Church offers comfort and support to women who experienced abortion (s) through From Grief to Gladness Retreat. The event will happen at Pine Valley Bible Conference Center. Women leaders from Skyline Church will lead this special event for healing and restoration.

Weekend Retreat, Time for Healing, Forgiveness

to console the mourners in Zion— to give them a crown of beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, and a garment of praise for a spirit of despair. So they will be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified.

Isaiah 61:3

Skyline Church embraces women who experienced abortion. As stated on its events page, most women who have experienced abortion have a significant burden of shame, guilt, and unforgiveness.

Skyline Church invites these women to the “From Grief to Gladness” Retreat on April 22 – 24 at Pine Valley Bible Conference Center. The church declares that it does not seem possible that the Lord can forgive or make anything good from one’s choice of abortion or abortions.

However, the Lord miraculously does! He understands. “From Grief to Gladness” Retreat will provide an opportunity for women who have undergone abortion (s) to discover how much God loves them.

Moreover, women will learn that He forgives and wants them to heal from their past. The Lord desires to give them His beauty for their ashes – Isaiah 61:3.

Skyline Church ensures that God will heal women emotionally, give them forgiveness,

and restore what He has planned for them. “From Grief to Gladness” Retreat is open only to women who have experienced abortion (s), including the seven women leaders at Skyline Church.

According to the church, being with other ladies who understand is vital for those who experience abortion (s) to heal emotionally. Skyline Church wants to connect to these women and show them how the Lord forgives and heals.

Furthermore, the church desires to walk alongside them on such a journey.

About Abortion

According to Guttmacher Institute, as of September 2019, there were 29 states considered hostile toward abortion rights. While 14 states were considered supportive, seven states were somewhere in between.

Guttmacher Institute also revealed that 18 percent of pregnancies, excluding miscarriages, in 2017 resulted in abortion. Data also show that in 2017 approximately 862,320 abortions were performed.

This record is a decrease of 7 percent from 926,190 in 2014. In the same year, over half of U.S. abortion patients were in their 20’s.

34 percent of all abortions performed were for patients aged 20-24. At the same time, 27 percent of abortions were undergone by patients aged 25-29.

Additionally, according to the institute, 59 percent of abortions in 2914 were obtained by patients with at least one child. In 2016, two–thirds of abortions happened at eight weeks or earlier

88 percent occurred in the first 12 weeks.
