The South Bay Pentecostal church embraces the Gospel of Christ this Lenten Season. The church engages its members in three events for this occasion, beginning on Good Friday, April 15.

South Bay Pentecostal Church, Lenten Celebration
As shared on its webpage, the South Bay Pentecostal Church organizes three events celebrating the Gospel of Christ. The celebration will commence on Friday, April 15.
The church’s Good Friday service is a traditional and creative communion service commemorating the death and burial of Jesus Christ.
The South Bay Pentecostal Church calls on everyone to come and join in its large community event.
The community event will feature a concert, food, Easter Egg Hunt, games, and giveaways. It will take place on Saturday, April 16 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Finally, on Easter Sunday, April 17 the South Bay Pentecostal Church will celebrate Christ’s resurrection. Testimonies will make the faithful see how Crist made a difference in everyone’s lives.
Lord’s Harvest, Neighborhood Food Distribution Program
The South Bay Pentecostal Church reaches out to those in need through the Lord’s Harvest. This program is made possible through a partnership with San Diego Food Bank. The next Lord’s Harvest distribution is on April 15, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
The church helps provide food to thousands of residents in South Bay. Everyone is welcome and there is no requirement to receive food assistance.
The distribution of vegetables, fruits, and bread-based is subject to availability. The church asks families to bring reusable bags or a cart with them for their food items.
About San Diego Food Bank
According to Facebook, the San Diego Food Bank’s mission is to provide nutritious food to those in need. It advocates for the hungry and educates the public about hunger-related issues.
The San Diego Food Bank feeds on an average of 550,000 people each month. This number includes seniors, active-duty military personnel, and children living in poverty.
April National Volunteer Month.
The San Diego Food Bank and its North County Food Bank chapter depend on the support of its dedicated network of volunteers.
The volunteers deliver the organization’s mission every day.
South Bay Pentecostal Church
This faith community is located at 395 D Street, Chula Vista. Art Hodges is the Senior Pastor for the South Bay Pentecostal Community Church. He has served the church as its Senior Pastor for 35 years.
Art Hodges is also the District Superintendent of the Southern California District of the United Pentecostal Church International.
Amado and Amber Huizar are the church’s Executive Pastor. They have been serving this role since 2017. The couple lead’s the church’s daily operations and assists Pastor Art in his pastoral duties.
Worship happens every Sunday at 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Online service is available on Wednesdays at 7 p.m., through Facebook, YouTube, and its website.
Connect Groups
These groups are vital aspects of the church’s life as a community. The groups meet weekly in the home of a group member.
Connect Groups try to keep participants limited to about 15 people.
