KOC celebrates its 20th year of Fish Feast. Every Friday beginning March 11 to April 8, the Knights of Columbus at St. James and St. Leo Catholic Community
KOC Fish Feasts 2022
In time for the observation of the Lenten Season, the Knights of Columbus once again holds its annual Fish Feasts. For 2022, it is celebrating its 20 years of Feasting. According to St. James and St. Leo Catholic Community webpage, the Fish Feasts happen every Friday.
The cost is $18 per person, and children under 12 are free— doors open at 6 p.m. for the Fish Feasts event. Appetizers are served at 6:30 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m.
St. James and St. Leo Catholic Community provided various ways to register for the Fish Feasts. The organizers launched a cookbook as part of KOC Fish Feast 2022.
The cookbook” A Collection of Culinary Cuisine” celebrates the 20 years of Fish Feasts. It features over 90 recipes and costs only $13.
St. James and St. Leo provided a link for reservation at KOC’s Fish Feasts on Facebook. The link also provided more details about reservations and payment.
Moreover, children under age 12 eat for free when accompanied by a paying adult. St. James and St. Leo Catholic Community invite everyone to this Lenten Season event.
St. James, St. Leo Prays for Religious Vocations
“The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few, Therefore, pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest” – Luke 10:2
This event happens every first Tuesday of the month. St. James and St. Leo Catholic Community invite everyone to join them in the Adoration Chapel, behind the altar every first Tuesday, after Mass – from 8:50 a.m. to 9:50 a.m.
The faith community prays for more men and women to enter the vocation – priests. They also pray for more religious men and women and holy laypeople.
The next prayer for religious vocations is on April 5, 2022.
Easter Flower Offering
In line with the observance of Lenten Season, St. James and St. Leo encourage parishioners to give for the Easter Flower Offering. As announced on Facebook last March 6, parishioners should have received the Easter Flower Offering dedication envelopes in their monthly packet of giving envelopes.
According to the announcement, the offering is intended for funding flowers that will serve as decorations for the Easter services. St. James and St. Leo ask parishioners to fill out the envelope and return it to the church by noon, Monday, April 4, 2022.
Lenten Mission, Choose Hope
Last March 5 – 6, Father Rusty presided overall weekend Masses. The priest also served as the presenter for Lenten Mission, Choose Hope, on March 7 – 9. He presented a talk after Morning or Evening Mass.
On the last day, March 9, light hospitality followed the Mass.
St. James and St. Leo are a Roman Catholic Church under the Diocese of San Diego. This faith community is located at 625 S Nardo Solana Beach.
