The Church at Rancho Bernardo (RB) will join the Olive Crest Assembly on Wednesday, Nov. 30, to inform members about some children in the foster care system.
The church’s website noted that the event would be a “family-friendly” activity. They added that they would prepare care packs, write a message to the receivers and deliver them.
It claimed it would be an excellent chance to hear from Olive Crest, and some The Church at RB parents are passionate about caring for their neighbors in the foster care environment. They encouraged those interested in joining the foster care space to attend the program.
Story of Adoption at Crest
On Olive Crest’s Youtube video, they highlighted the story of a woman named Ruby. In the video, Ruby narrated how her life had changed through the help of Olive Crest.
She said she was born in Los Angeles, but her parents do not have enough money to buy a decent home. Ruby admitted that while they were growing up, her parents did not look after them since they were addicted to drugs.
In addition, she stated that they have to eat rotten milk because they do not have electricity. The neighbors saw these kids walking around barefoot and called CPS. Ruby revealed that they never had the chance to say goodbye to their mother.
In her story, she said that she was mad at everyone and at every single home. She added that she did not get along with anybody.
Meanwhile, when she got a place with Olive Crest, her cousins had a welcome banner before meeting her, as mentioned in the video. They were very welcoming, as Ruby emphasized.
However, she thought it was not permanent and had trust issues. When she felt the love of her adoptive parents, she began relying on them.
Transformation
In the video, Ruby stressed that she learned that God forgives her for her sins. She also discovered how to forgive others, as stated in the video. Ruby started forgiving her biological mother.
Moreover, she emphasized that she felt more affection at Olive Crest. Ruby wanted to be a registered nurse to give back to the goodness she received from her social workers.
She added that she wants to help others and play a significant role.
More importantly, Ruby thanked all the supporters of Olive Crest as they have positively impacted the children at the foster home.
