As the Boys and Girls Club of America looks forward to the in-person Summer Games, the Church at RB encourages all young people to join them to compete in healthy, enjoyable games and celebrate sportsmanship on July 15 at the 4S Ranch branch.
The church events announced that their members from all over San Diego would also participate. They added that the club’s mission is to allow all young individuals, especially those who need them the most, to maximize their full potential.
They could be productive, caring, and responsible citizens.
Besides, the church also asked the congregation to volunteer.
They said there is something for all volunteers: a break from the office, a chance to give back, or an opportunity to reveal their inner child.
The Volunteer Sign-up page posted that they needed people to help with the morning set-ups. They would set up the tents, water stations, and village stations.
They also need volunteers for lunch crews to help prepare the lunch and assist the BQ staff.
Besides, they need teams to handle various sports, such as kickball, soccer, and track and field.
Boys & Girls Clubs of America
The Boys and Girls Clubs of America revealed that they do whatever it takes to create extraordinary futures. They noted that they never took a single method to help children succeed. They have well-informed and equipped mentors.
The club mentioned that they have a safe environment that is consistently present for the kids they help. They highlighted that it takes innovative, quality activities intended to strengthen young people.
These efforts could help them excel in school. Their programs are also helpful for the youth to lead healthy and productive lives, as posted on their website.
Whatever it Takes: Club Impacts
The Club impact section noted that the Boys & Girls of America is dedicated to transforming lives. They do this by evaluating how much Club children and teenagers are achieving. They could know how effectively the Club experience contributes to America’s young people creating great futures.
The club highlighted that 52% of Grade 12 club members express their interest in a STEM career, compared with 27% of Grade 12 nationally. There are also 97% of club teenagers who finish high school.
Meanwhile, the website also revealed that 76% of low-income members ages 12 to 18 who joined the Club have As and Bs. This report is compared to 67% of their peers nationwide.
Advocating for America’s Youth
The club’s Youth Advocacy webpage stated that they raise and help the voices of Clubs and young people on the concerts that affect kids’ safety, education, access, and opportunities.
They said every child in America deserves access and opportunities that help them achieve their full potential.
However, too often, the children deal with systemic barriers to success.
The club mentioned that their advocacy assures that they listen to the voices of the youth in their local communities, the state, and federal levels as they achieve policies and solutions that would significantly affect the country's young people.
The club guarantees to provide digital access, meals, and more are priorities at the state and national levels.
