AIDS WALK & RUN San Diego

According to The Center's website, AIDS Walk & Run San Diego is one of the most significant HIV fundraising events in San Diego. They noted that this program is a way for people to honor those they lost because of HIV/AIDS.

They said that this running event is for them to raise money to help services for those affected by HIV today. They added that it could also raise awareness so people could learn more about the sickness.

The organization seeks to lessen the spread of HIV/AIDS through this running event, as emphasized on the website. They also stressed that they are dedicated to supporting initiatives such as HIV testing on at least a yearly basis.

In addition, the AIDS Walk & Run program offers help for individuals to know their HIV status and their assistance in dealing with it.  The organization also supports using condoms, PrEP, and PEP, as noted on the website.

More importantly, the website said that the running program consistently connects with the medical care and the healing process of individuals to monitor undetectable viral loads.

Be the Generation

In another section, The Center website revealed that the San Diego LGBT Community Center established the groundbreaking of BeTheGeneration advocacy. As further explained, this campaign is their strategic initiative to stop new HIV transmissions in the county.

They also highlighted that using PrEP and the PEP process could lessen someone’s HIV risk by up to 99 percent. This study is based on the research founded by both Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization.

The website stated that this study inspired the LGBT Community Center’s campaign. Through the BeTheGeneration program, they could provide essential assistance to prevent the spread of HIV.

Comprehensive Program
