Toy Drive runs at Rice City Church starting

Rise City Church partners with Lakeside Helps Center this Christmas season.

Last Nov. 28, the church launched its Toy Drive outreach.

Christmas Toy Drive

Rise Church started its effort of bringing Christmas to families in need. The church is working with Lakeside Helps Center for the Toy Drive, according to its website.

It announced that everyone could bring new, unwrapped toys and put them under the tree. The last day for dropping off toys is on Friday, Dec. 17.

Rise City Church scheduled the Toy Drive for De. 18 from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the church’s address. Moreover, the church welcomes volunteers for the event.

Volunteers may help set up on Friday or help with the toy distribution on Saturday, Dec. 18.

Tuesday Take Over at Lakeside

Rise City Church launched a 12- week program for middle school and high school. It’s called Tuesday Take Over, which started last Sept. 26 and ends on Dec. 14.

As stated on the website, the Student Ministry is hosting this Tuesday night program from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday Take Over features games, food, and outreach for students to invite their friends.

According to Rise City Church, the Student Ministry aims to “take over” the community on Tuesday nights with groups of students living life on a mission for God’s kingdom.

Middle School Winter Camp

Rise City Church announces the Middle School Winter Camp on its events page. It teams up with The Grove Church in taking Middle Schoolers to Winter Camp.

The spiritual retreat and camp are set for Jan. 14 – 17, a Martin Luther King Jr. weekend.

The Pine Valley Bible Conference Center will be the winter camp’s venue. The church provided details on the cost and instructions in joining the Winter Camp.

Rise City Church’s about page shared its mission - Wake Up to Jesus, Rise to Life and Shine to Others. In 2013, four families moved to San Diego and established Rise City Church.

As narrated on its website, the church started as a dream for its founder, for a place where disconnected people could find a connection to Christ and others.

As stated on the website, its founders prayed that such a church would be a place for everyone to come and experience love, life, hope, and healing in Christ.

Furthermore, the church aims to provide opportunities for people to grow in relationships with Jesus and partner with families to help raise kids who love Jesus.

Pastor Brandon Grant is the lead pastor for Rise City Church. He and executive pastor Pete Goodman guide and serve this faith community with their pastors.
