Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa (CCCM) is a Christ-centered ministry, led by the Holy Spirit. The ministry began with the church located in Costa Mesa, CA and has flourished and expanded into a multifaceted ministry which includes Christian Schools, Christian Conference Centers, a Bible College, a School of Worship, Christian Radio Stations, Christian radio programs, Christian book distribution, and Christian bookstores.

Calvary Chapel Bible College (CCBC) exists to train and develop men and women of all ages, backgrounds and nationalities into Christ-like disciples and servant-leaders who know God through His Word and are equipped by His Spirit to serve Him in every area of life, for the glory of God. We are a ministry of Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa.

Position Purpose / Summary

The Board of Directors of Calvary Chapel Bible College (CCBC) is conducting an open search for the next president of the institution. Successful candidates for the presidency must have the capacity and professional qualifications to lead CCBC in its mission of equipping students to serve and glorify God in every area of life. The president of CCBC is the chief executive officer (CEO), reports directly to the board, and maintains general supervision, direction, and control of the academic and business aspects of the college.

Vision and Basic Expectations

The president of Calvary Chapel Bible College is responsible for leading the institution to achieve its mission by helping students know God through His Word and become equipped as His servants. The ideal candidate will be a minister of the Gospel in this ministry and will have a strong relationship with Jesus Christ. Their relationship with Christ will be an example to the staff, students, and parents.

The President of Calvary Chapel Bible College will:

  1. Model authentic Christian living through a commitment to God and thereby, to a life of spiritual, physical, mental, emotional, and social health and growth.
  2. Build a relationship of trust and collaboration with the board of directors as they assume their legal and fiduciary responsibilities and exercise appropriate oversight of the institution.
  3. Build a relationship of trust, communication, and cooperation with CCBC's leadership team as they bring together their various resources to accomplish institutional goals.
  4. Build a relationship of trust and collegiality with the faculty and staff as they facilitate student learning.
  5. Build a relationship of warmth, trust, and care with the student body that contributes to their holistic growth.
  6. Involve the campus community in forging an institutional strategic plan for the future that results in mission achievement and continuous improvement.
  7. Monitor and strengthen enrollment management efforts that are consistent with the institution's mission and address issues of recruitment, admissions, financial aid, and retention.
  8. Maintain a high degree of financial stability through a budgeting process that serves as an effective means of financial control.
  9. Engage fully in fund development and alumni activities in expanding the relationship and donor base for the institution.
  10. Establish and maintain strong relationships with Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa, the broader Calvary Chapel family of churches, and other like-minded local churches in strengthening the Church of Jesus Christ and carrying out the Great Commission.
  11. Establish and maintain strong relationships with other external organizations for purposes of increasing the profile of the institution, recruit future students, cultivate ministry placement opportunities for students, and serve the local community effectively.
  12. Establish and maintain relationships with the higher education community for purposes of collegiality, institutional visibility, and professional development.



Qualifications

Eligible applicants must:

  • Agree with and live out the mission, vision, and core values of CCCM as outlined in the Statement of Faith (www.cccm.com)
  • Hold doctrinal views that are in accord with the Calvary Chapel Bible College Statement of Faith (click here) as set forth in the bylaws.
  • Understand that it is a privilege to serve the Lord in vocational ministry and that those who serve God on staff at CCCM are expected to embrace a high biblical, Christ-like standard of conduct and lifestyle, both public and personal
  • Be spiritually mature and give evidence of conversion and consecration to Jesus Christ.

  • Meet the biblical characteristics described in I Timothy 3 and Titus 2.
  • Be active members of a Bible-believing church.
  • Give evidence of God's calling and gifting for Christian service in educational leadership.
  • Give evidence of a proven ability to lead, oversee, and develop staff and faculty.
  • Give evidence of an ability to integrate vision with realistic and effective strategic planning.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills working with other leaders, faculty, staff, students, and volunteers.
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Have a proven ability to self-manage, including prioritizing and meeting deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Educational Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in academic administration or a related field
  • Have knowledge of and experience with accreditation for biblical higher education

Relationships

  • Reports to the Calvary Chapel Bible College Board of Directors
  • Oversees all other administrators of Bible College



Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
