The Operations and Data Specialist performs essential administrative functions that support the operations of the Office for Mission Advancement (OMA) and Family Aid-Catholic Education
(FACE), with particular emphasis on management of donor and gift data in the Raiser’s Edge diocesan donor database. The position has primary responsibility for maintaining accurate records in the donor database and serves lead and supportive roles in the areas of gift processing, donor acknowledgement, campaign reporting, event planning, and prospect research. The individual in this position responds to gift-related inquiries from donors, parishes, and other departments within the diocese.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
· Performs pre-batching (donor look-up) for all gifts received by OMA and readies gift batches for entry.
· Processes online gifts for Bishop’s Appeal and other diocesan ministries.
· Performs all gift processing (online and mail), donor acknowledgement, and monthly financial reconciliation for FACE.
· Maintains accurate records within the Raiser’s Edge donor database, including updating of addresses and demographic info, searching obituaries for deceased individuals, and merging duplicate records.

· Maintains distribution list for monthly mailing of the diocesan news magazine and timely provides list to printer.

· Provides exceptional customer service in responding to inquiries from donors and OMA or accounting staff about gifts and pledges, helping to resolve discrepancies with gift-related issues.

· Produces financial and statistical queries and reports for OMA and FACE as assigned.
· Assists with identification and research of donor prospects.
· Lead gift administrator for annual FACE gala including use of the Raiser’s Edge events module and third-party software, Greater Giving.
· Assists with administrative tasks within OMA and FACE as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities:
· Strong knowledge of Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge donor database program.
· Familiarity with Lexis Nexis (optional).
· Great computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Strong service orientation and commitment to assisting donors and diocese/parish staff.

· Must possess a high degree of responsibility, integrity, initiative, and professionalism and practice confidentiality in dealing with donor-related matters.

· Excellent time management.
· Knowledge of administrative support services including preparation of materials, special event coordinating, and customer service.
· Ability to perform multiple projects and complete assigned tasks.

Educational Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

Experience:
· Two years of experience in Raiser’s Edge donor database with knowledge of query, export, import, and gift batching strongly preferred.
· Experience with fundraising and other non-profit activities.

Physical Requirements/ Environmental Conditions:
· Requires prolonged sitting.
· Requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push objects or materials up to 25 pounds.
· May require occasional stooping, bending, and reaching.
· May work in changeable temperatures.
· Will work in an office setting with office machines.

Hours and Benefits:
This is a full-time, 37.5 hour per week position with full diocesan benefits, including health, dental/vision, accrual of one sick day per month and vacation accrual of 3 weeks per year
(increases to 4 weeks at year 7), Diocesan contribution of 8% of salary into the Lay Employee
Retirement Plan, and opportunity for employee contribution into a 403b savings plan, among other benefits.
