Area/Program Focus: Development

Position Summary: The Development and Community Outreach Coordinator supports the Development Director and team with donor and sponsor cultivation, event coordination, and outreach to strengthen Catholic Charities relationships with key community partners; to expand Catholic Charities community presence; and to broaden awareness and understanding of the good work Catholic Charities does in the community.

Responsibilities:
Key Area One: Events
Event coordination and assistance, including annual fundraising events, monthly service events, quarterly outreach events and annual events benefiting community members in need.
Working with Development and Programs, identify and plan volunteer opportunities for one-time and on-going events that align with the Agency mission, vision, and values and that provide donors and supporters opportunities to do good work.
Support Development appeals, campaigns, outreach, and major events as determined by the Director of Development.

Key Area Two: Community Outreach

Coordinate monthly food distributions with key partners such as food banks, other service organizations and parishes. Monitor needs and adapt to changing circumstances among community members.
Identify community outreach activities planned by key partners that align with Agency mission, vision, and values and organize Catholic Charities presence and involvement.

Key Area 3: Parish Outreach

Coordinate outreach to the Parishes of the Diocese of Oakland for the purpose of increased engagement with the Parishes and building mutual understanding of opportunities shared purpose, in terms of social services.
Identify opportunities for outreach, education, and relationship with other entities such as Catholic Schools and interfaith organizations.

Benefit Status: Eligible for benefits, including paid vacation and sick leave, medical and dental insurance, agency paid retirement, life and disability insurance.

Minimum Requirements

College degree required.
Minimum of five years of experience in a not-for-profit.
Expert use of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Experience with Raiser’s Edge or other donor relationship software.
Cooperative, friendly, and helpful attitude with clients and co-workers. Ability to work closely with other employees to ensure positive, constructive environment within the program or department and throughout the agency.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with volunteers is desirable.

Salary Range: 63,000 - 67,000 per year
