The Digital Communications Coordinator is responsible for the strategy, management and execution of Grace Avenue’s digital communications including, but not limited to, the website, social media and email communications. This position involves implementing both day-to-day tactics as well as developing broader long- and short-term strategies.

The DCC is responsible for executing a centralized social media strategy for Grace Avenue and Grace Chapel. The DMC will work with the Executive Staff to create this strategy to ensure that it aligns with Grace Avenue’s Vision, Mission and Discipleship Method. This person will also be responsible for researching and proposing new tactics for carrying out effective social media communications in this rapidly changing environment.

The objective is not simply to “keep up”, but rather be on the “cutting edge” of social media as a tool for the church of the present and the future.

The DCC will be responsible for daily maintenance of Website content and managing the site(s) to align with the broader communications and missional strategy. This will include maintaining updated functional content (including registrations and giving), integrating social media as appropriate, and keeping up with technology for the best security and usability.

Responsibilities

  • Centralization – Executing a Central Strategy for Sanctuary, Modern, Grace Chapel and the Grace Avenue System.
  • Calendaring – Creating a system for when things are due and when they will be posted to on social media, websites and/or communicated through email.
  • Posting/Updating – Delivering the right content, at the right time to the right platforms.
  • Monitoring – Responding to queries and comments. Also removing and blocking undesirable responses.
  • Analytics – Evaluating social media and web analytics to determine what is getting traction and where it is not.
  • Marketing/Social Media Advertising – Evaluating and proposing when and how we should advertise on social media.
  • Platform Usage – Evaluating and proposing which platforms are most effective for each group.
  • Management and execution of weekly e-newletter(s) and other targeted emails.
  • Content Assistance & Recommendation – Helping staff create and edit their content for greater impact.
