General

This full-time position at Calvary Presbyterian Church will implement regular program and project communications tasks in support of a wide range of Calvary ministries and events. Reports to the Senior Pastor & Head of Staff.

Work is expected to be done onsite at Calvary 4 days per week, with 1 day allowable offsite. Some Sunday, Saturday, or evening work will be necessary, but infrequently (about 8-12x per year). The position has a minimum starting salary of $60,000 per year, which could increase based on experience. In addition, there is paid health care, sick leave, holidays, and vacation leave, as well as a retirement contribution to a 403(b) plan.

Responsibilities

Program and Event Support (60%)

1. In collaboration with three Pastors and other program directors, manage the creation and production of all manner of digital and traditional communications output for regular activities that occur weekly, monthly, quarterly as well as special times of the year; does not include support for weekly worship services.

2. This output includes, but is not limited to, website entries, posters, emails, video clips, banners, building signage, and direct mail.

3. Provider support to Director of Development and Music Director with specific communications ideas, content creation, and distribution for various giving campaigns and concert events.

4. Will need to interact, communicate, and coordinate with all staff personnel, lay leaders, and volunteers; will have no direct reports.

General Communications Activities and Related Processes (30%)

1. With assistance from outside firms, manage vendors, hardware, software and licenses to operate and maintain Calvary’s external website, create content, train users (other staff and lay leaders), and troubleshoot operational issues.

2. With assistance from outside firms, manage social media content and distribution, including Facebook, Instagram, and website blogs.

3. Using Asana project management software, manage communications workflow and editorial calendar.

4. Manage a budget for outside vendors, website and equipment expense, production materials and related communications costs.

Administrative & Office Management (10%)

1. Oversee and manage some office processes and equipment (e.g., large group copier, postage meter, folding machine); provide guidance or instruction documents as needed.

2. Other tasks as needed

Qualifications & Expectations

1. Proficiency in monitoring and engaging with multiple ministries and events, organizing information and coordinating across multiple staff in a collaborative and dynamic environment with colleagues with diverse skills and backgrounds.

2. Excellent verbal and written communication, proofing and editing skills, and strong command of the English language required due to document oversight responsibilities.

3. Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Adobe Photoshop and InDesign; experience with project management tools (e.g., Asana) and contact databases required (e.g.,
Constant Contact).

4. 3-5 years related experience required.
5. Self-motivated and able to work and make some decisions with minimal supervision.
6. Prior experience in a church or a non-profit preferred.
7. Experience using Planning Center, or ChMS software welcome.
