SUMMARY

The Director of Integrated Services in Administration represents the interest of Programs with a high degree of integrity, advocates for the diverse needs of Programs and community, and is inspired by GLIDE’s mission and values to support the ongoing implementation of GLIDE’s strategic plan (GLIDE Forward). This position is expected to lead, facilitate, and coach project teams on how to shepherd ideas from conception to execution, evaluation, and institutionalization using inclusive communication, effective goal setting, and work planning. In collaboration with the Senior Director of Programs (SDP) and the Director of Integrated Services in Practice, this position supports the strategic design and program development for all of GLIDE’s programs, assists in the oversight of program operations, coaching of program managers and directors, manage relationships with partner agencies and institutions, and represents GLIDE’s strategic interests both internally and externally.

 

This position occasionally works nontraditional hours/weekends and on work on major holidays such as Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. Predictable onsite attendance, to be determined with the SDP, is expected during the regular workweek.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide leadership and consultation to Program Leadership Team in aligning and integrating programmatic activities and business processes that support GLIDE Forward.
  • Support SDP and Program Leadership Team to design, develop and implement programs that result in measurable impact to fulfill GLIDE Forward.
  • Directly lead a project or ongoing project teams to implement specific program projects and events that further the integration of programs and services; improves client engagement and relationship-building and strengthens community partnerships.
  • Lead evaluation, development and implementation of new strategic opportunities that potentially support further alignment with GLIDE Forward.
  • Collaborate with SDP, Program Leadership, and CALI to develop program outcomes especially as it pertains to integrated services, mobile services, and pilot programming; and provide input and support on implementing and institutionalizing data collection practices in Programs to improve impact measurement.
  • Collaborate with SDP, Public Funding, Center for Social Justice, and Fund Development to identify, cultivate, and maintain partnerships with funders, donors, and other entities that support GLIDE Forward.
  • Collaborate with GLIDE’s Finance, Fund Development and Public Funding teams to support financial and programmatic planning and reporting to successfully secure and administer new and existing funds.
  • Collaborate with GLIDE operations business partners (e.g. HR, Facilities, IT, etc.) to represent Programs’ interests and role in developing strong business continuity and processes to enable successful delivery of community services;
  • Assess emergent situations brought by Program Leadership Team, frontline program staff, and internal and external stakeholders and make recommendations to SDP on how to reallocate and/or advocate for resources to respond compassionately and strategically.
  • Supervise, support, and/or lead select Program Leadership staff in areas of staff/team supervision and support, infrastructure-building, operations stabilization, and compliance and risk management.
  • Support Programs operations and oversee/supervise Programs with management vacancies and/or undergoing transitions.
  • Act in collaboration with the Director of Integrated Services Practice on behalf of the SDP, both when specifically deputized and in the case of the SDP’s absence, to oversee successful operations of GLIDE’s programs and to maintain important community partnerships and relationships.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directly supervise 3-5 program managers.
  • Coach and mentor direct reports with regard to performance, problem analysis and resolution, and people management.
  • Ensure the development and retention of direct reports by growing and investing in direct reports’ knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Consistently communicate responsibilities and expectations using tools such as work plans, performance evaluations, regular feedback, and current, accurate job descriptions.
  • Work with SDP and HR to resolve personnel issues following GLIDE’s policies and procedures.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • MA degree (preferred, not required) and 7+ years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in direct supervision of staff/teams, particularly staff providing frontline direct services to high-risk populations.
  • Demonstrated background in program design, development, and evaluation. Knowledge of program evaluation methods and concepts.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing financial management, planning, and leadership for programs and projects.
  • Experience working with data collection tools and data analysis.
  • Track record of success in project management.
  • Successful experience managing government contracts and grants as well as application processes. Understanding and knowledge of government funding streams and foundation grants are helpful.
  • Some strategy or management consulting experience a plus but not required.
  • Experience working in a community-based social or health services agency with socially and economically marginalized individuals required.
