QUALIFICATIONS

■ Organization skills and attention to detail

■ Computer experience, including G suite, Microsoft suite and online databases

■ Ability to work well with people, especially those with special needs and individuals experiencing crisis

ACCOUNTABILITY

The responsibilities of this position are to be conducted under supervision of the Resource Center Manager along with the Director of Community Outreach who will provide oversight and guidance and will conduct requisite reviews as to job performance. This position is subject to the terms and conditions of the most current Personnel Policies and Practices Manual.

Any person assuming this position will have read and agreed to be subject to the terms and conditions of the Personnel Policies and Practices Manual of the First Presbyterian Church of Hayward, including an understanding that any employment agreement will depend upon a satisfactory background check and a satisfactory explanation of irregularities. The background check may include but is not limited to clearances by a background search agency to review for criminal records, education verification, Social Security trace, license or credential verification, previous employment verification, previous credit, DMV, etc.

Note that FPCH stands for First Presbyterian Church of Hayward, and it includes the church plans and other activities that are all under the same tax ID number. SHP stands for South Hayward Parish.

RESPONSIBILITIES

§ Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

§ Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time

§ Oversee and participate in daily operations

§ Stage food accordingly

§ Coordinate with Alameda County Community Food Bank and other partners to ensure food deliveries and subsequent food distribution

§ Collaborate with other staff to coordinate daily tasks and inventory

§ Track pantry donation receipts and daily summaries on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis

§ Day to day cleaning of the facility and workspace as needed. Ensuring a safe and clean working environment.

§ Supervise and train volunteers in the safe execution of food pantry duties

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, sit at a desk and use the computer and phone, as well as work on various administrative tasks. Use of vision is required to do various functions. Reading and writing abilities are required. Use of pallet jack is required.

Flexibility, speed and the ability to multitask and work under deadlines is required in order to meet job demands. Ability to stand for long periods of time, lifting, bending and flexibility of hands may be required to do various functions. Ability to hear and communicate well is required in order to help unsheltered guests, volunteers and Staff. Working indoors and outdoors will be required for this position.

Use of cleaning supplies and proper use of personal protective equipment always while on shift are required.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

This position is considered full-time non-exempt temporary employment, for an average of 40 hours per week, Vacation, sick leave, and other terms of employment shall be as provided per the Personnel Policies and Practices Manual of Session.
