TITLE OF POSITION AND CLASSIFICATION
Fifth Grade Teacher / Full Time Exempt

QUALIFICATIONS

  • An active disciple of Jesus Christ and willingness to support the beliefs and teachings of Redeemer.
  • Possess the ability to work in a Christian environment and apply Christian values before families and young people in a way that honors Christ through words, attitudes, and actions.
  • Credentialed in the state of California or eligible for credentialing with a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Education preferred; 24 Units of Early Childhood Education preferred for Transitional Kindergarten
  • Graduate of a Concordia University System college or university or have completed the colloquy program preferred.
  • Previous teaching experience is preferred.
  • Able to work collaboratively with staff, parents, students, and community with excellent classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to communicate in the English language effectively both verbally and in writing.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be an active participant in the life of Redeemer’s ministry.
  • Collaboratively work with the Ministry Leadership Team, faculty / staff, and parents to provide a quality Christian education.
  • A commitment to adopt and grow towards Redeemer's core teaching values and practices.
  • Actively participate in activities resulting from strategic planning of the school ministry as lead by the Head of School, Principal of Curriculum of Learning and Instruction, and Principal of Strategy and Operations
  • Participate in student orientation and registration activities.
  • Assume responsibility for student discipline and safety.
  • Participate in school sponsored activities which facilitate the professional growth and enhance the quality of the instructional program.
  • Maintain professional competence through continued education and professional development.
  • Create and maintain an effective learning environment for students.
  • Teach students utilizing the course of study adopted by Redeemer School ministry.

  • Create an environment that fosters creativity, positive self-image, and respect for colleagues and community.
  • Instruct students in citizenship and communication skills.
  • Utilize the campus and community to implement place, project and service-based learning.
  • Provide differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all students.
  • Establish and maintain standards of student behavior conducive to learning.
  • Evaluate students’ academic, social, and emotional growth and keep appropriate records.
  • Identify student needs and collaborate with school leadership, other staff members, and parents to assess and assist students.
  • Assist in other school programs and duties as assigned.

Pay: $53,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
