Job Description, Musician/Vocalist
Part-Time, Interim Choir Director
Founded over 130 years ago, First Covenant Church of Oakland (FCC) is a multiethnic, multigenerational church in the Evangelical Covenant Denomination (ECC) with a rich history in the Bay Area. The Mission of FCC is to “equip people to follow Jesus in their everyday lives,” and our Vision is to “break down barriers, build up people, and be a light for our city.”
The FCC Choir Director will coordinate and direct the choir for FCC. This includes both in-person and streaming services.
TASKS:
- Directing the FCC Choir for Sunday worship and special FCC musical events
- Coordinating weekly worship with FCC staff and collaborating with all FCC music and worship team members
- Leading weekly Thursday evening choir rehearsal and training choir members for excellence
- Recruiting potential choir members for the future of the ministry
- Overseeing the work of the FCC accompanist/organist as it relates to the choir ministry and worship services
- Attending staff meetings, staff retreats, events and training experiences designed for staff and church leaders as needed
