If you have experience working with young children and would like to be a part of a warm and vibrant church community in the heart of Cow Hollow in San Francisco, please consider this part-time role. We are seeking a warm, reliable, and flexible person to run our nursery, one of the essential programs of the church. Nursery care is offered to children four months through three years old. www.smvsf.org
Reporting to the Associate Rector, the position is part-time which includes up to six hours weekly, plus additional hours for special occasions.
Overall Function
- Responsible for the care, safety and security of all children in the nursery.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate our weekly Sunday nursery program, including finding, training and managing the caregivers. Nursery Care is offered to children 4 months through 3 years old for the 9am and 11am services during the school year (arrival by 8:45am, departure usually by 12:45pm) and at 10:00 am during the summer (arrival by 9:45am, departure usually by 11:45am). Nursery care is also offered on Christmas Eve (12/24) and may be offered during Holy Week and occasional parish events.
- Train caregivers on age appropriate care. Schedule caregivers for CPR & First Aid training in addition to training on responsibility for reporting suspected abuse.
- With nursery liaisons, organize, schedule, and follow-up with parent volunteers as utilized.
- Consistently use check-in/check-out procedures for the safety of our families.
- Create a welcoming and community building environment with the families who use the nursery. In the past this has extended to working with clergy and volunteers to offer special events or gatherings for the nursery families.
- Oversee and help maintain physical supplies and appearance of Nursery in coordination with nursery staff and volunteers, including wiping down surfaces and vacuuming the nursery at the end of each Sunday.
- Provide employment information for all paid care providers to the Finance Manager.
- Contribute to communication and publicity of Nursery program in our weekly bulletin and other church communications.

- Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
Schedule:

- Weekends only
