Redemption Church SF is a growing, young church in the heart of the city. Job Summary: The Worship Director is responsible for implementing the vision and mission of Redemption through worship. The Worship Director is to provide leadership through the gift of music, song, prayer, and the arts to help the congregation and community understand and experience the love of Christ in our efforts to be more like Jesus. The Worship Director will also manage and oversee all Redemption A/V needs. The Worship Director must be a person of character and integrity and must be a committed follower of Jesus.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Build community within the worship teams while shepherding and discipling team members
- To identify, select, and lead a wide range of genres by blending contemporary Christian music, gospel, and traditional hymns
- Organize and/or lead weekly Sunday morning worship and special church events (i.e all church meetings, in-house events)
- Organize and lead regular worship nights to build a culture of praise and worship in our local church
- Consistently recruit and train vocalist and musicians inside Redemption Church
- Develop and maintain relationships with musicians outside Redemption Church
- Develop and train other worship leaders in Redemption Church to lead in the multiethnic, multi-class, Jesus centered local church context
- Recruit, train, and direct a Redemption Church choir
- Recruit and develop leaders, and direct a Redemption Church children’s choir for special events
- Hire and replace qualified musicians as needed
- Organize and lead regular rehearsals for vocalists and musicians
- Manage any and all copyright issues with weekly presentation of worship music
- Oversee and manage weekly services in planning center in partnership with Lead Pastor
- Strategically assign vocalists and musicians via planning center weekly
- Oversee, recruit, and train all A/V team members
- Manage and oversee all church A/V equipment and technology
- Manage and oversee any production and staging upgrades and additions
- Oversee Redemption sermon recordings and podcast uploads
- Develop a passionate Christ focused culture of worship at Redemption SF
- Ability to teach music to vocalists in proper vocal parts
- Commit to working on-site on Sundays and one-day per week for staff meetings and as needed in other capacities on or off-site
- Candidate must be an engaging leader of worship
- Candidates must possess the ability to work collaboratively
- Oversee a strategic plan for Redemption Church to live stream Sunday Services
Preferred Experience:
- Working knowledge of Planning Center and A/V Equipment (including pro-presenter)
- Working knowledge of multiple instruments and able to give instructions to musicians regarding tempo, musical chords, etc
- Flexibility and openness to other genres of music
- Flexibility and openness to lead at other campuses should that be necessary
Schedule and Hours: Salary position including some Saturday responsibilities, Sundays, and some evening responsibilities.
Salary: Commensurate with experience and education
