CONCORD CHURCH

Position: Assistant Director in the Children’s area for 1st to 5th graders

Position Summary: This person should have a passion for influencing children’s lives with Jesus’ love so that in God’s timing, they will want to become a Christ-follower. They also need to be available to oversee the children’s area on Sunday’s and Wednesday nights, along with being available to sub for the director when they are absent.

Hours: 15 to 20 hours/weekly

Church mission statement: Concord Exists to connect all people to Jesus so that they can grow in faith and serve others.

Children’s mission statement: To help the family in nurturing their children in Christian development so that, in God’s time, they will become followers of Christ. At Concord, the Children’s area's main goal is to make the children’s area an environment where kids hear about Jesus and his love for them. We want to plant seeds of faith in children’s lives constantly. We also want to provide kids with a safe, comfortable environment, one where they learn on their level, whether preschool or grade school.

Duties of During the Week:

• Communicate with volunteers making sure we have enough for each Sunday and make sure all volunteers have had a background check.
• Prepare and adapt the curriculum for each Sunday. Gather supplies needed that volunteers and kids need for class.
• Check on working order and safety of all items in the children’s area. Cleaning and organizing as needed in the rooms and resource room often.
• Help with graphics on Facebook and fliers.

Duties on Sunday’s:

• Get to know kids, parents, and volunteers.
• Write birthday cards, miss you cards, "welcome" cards, "thinking of you" cards to stay connected with volunteers and kids.
• Find a replacement volunteer when a volunteer needs to be off on their scheduled Sunday. Fill in for a sick volunteer or unable to make it last minute on a Sunday morning.
• Be aware and make sure volunteers are aware of any allergies or health concerns kids may have.

This is a brief description of the job, and these duties change as the seasons/activities change in the children’s area.

Pay: Up to $14.00 per hour
