Job Summary

The Church Administrator serves to administratively support the Lead Pastor, staff, and ministries of The Journey Hanley Road. This individual requires excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills. The ideal candidate will be a diligent self-starter who is able to multitask, prioritize, and self-direct.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist Lead Pastor in managing his calendar (meeting rhythms and document preparation) and various administrative projects
  • Manage multiple calendars (Lead Pastor, Hanley Road, Journey Global, Security, City, Wedding) to ensure integration, alignment, and execution of events and activities
  • Administer and manage Hanley Road Planning Center Online groups, initiatives and events including: sign-up processes for events and service projects, content management, and updating member contact information
  • Collaborate with the Journey Collective Team to execute Hanley Road promotions and to secure all presentation needs for services (bulletins, slides, announcements, videos). Collaborate with the worship leader and/or production team in order to ensure media materials are included in Sunday service line up
  • Coordinate with Hanley Road and Facilities staff to address facility needs and requests at Hanley Road
  • Schedule Host teams to serve during Sunday worship services and provide other communicative and administrator support as deemed appropriate by the Pastor of Spiritual Formation
  • Respond to or re-assign and track communication inquiries via infohr@thejourney.org in a timely and hospitable manner
  • Manage all church communication and strategize with other key staff & leaders on promotions
  • Communicate with elders, deacons, leaders, and congregants regarding upcoming meetings/events, including administering monthly newsletter, writing weekly announcements and creating invitational emails
  • Manage & cultivate church social media audience & content, including posting event information to website and app platforms
  • Manage connect card Planning Center workflow
  • Manage the process for Hanley Road event requests (Facilities and calendar alignment and approval)
  • Oversee the organizing and ordering of supplies for Hanley Road as needed
  • Greet visitors, answer the telephone, screen and direct calls, take and relay messages
  • Oversee the process of requests for building keys and purchasing cards
  • Participate in Journey Global Church Communication meetings
  • Attend Hanley Road staff meetings, HR All Leader Meetings, and Journey All-Staff meetings
  • Assist with administrative tasks of other Staff and Ministry Leaders as determined by Lead Pastor
  • Track expenses for supplies, event vendors, and other needs

 

Status: Part-time, hourly (non-exempt)
Schedule/Hours: 22 hrs/week, some Sundays, occasional evening and special events
Benefits: Cell phone reimbursement, accrued PTO, 403b
Reports to: Hanley Road Lead Pastor
