Main Responsibilities

Produce all communications in all formats

  • Maintain the church website and assist in maintaining the church database
  • Populate and monitor social media presence, including Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and live streaming
  • Produce the Church’s Annual Report in conjunction with Administrative Assistant
  • Design fliers, posters, and banners and produce in-house or work with off-site printers
  • Assemble weekly e-newsletter and targeted email communications
  • Design a weekly bulletin insert containing all events
  • Create a monthly calendar of events
  • Maintain Realm communications & event registrations

Plan communications strategy

  • Present and evolve the strategy to more effectively utilize new and existing technologies and formats
  • Gather and utilize website and social media analytics to enhance effectiveness

Coordinate communications operations

  • Coordinate and integrate communications agenda with church
  • Create and manage a schedule of Audio/Visual Technicians to ensure all events are covered. This includes worship services, weddings, funerals, concerts, lectures, etc.
  • Attend weekly staff meetings

Source communications content

  • Create and edit graphics, photographs, and videos
  • Be present at events and holidays to generate content and oversee a team of Audio/Visual Technicians
  • Maintain communications content and archives library
  • Produce a bi-monthly podcast: including set-up, idea creation, and uploading to Buzzsprout

Technology Support/Integration

  • Be the main contact for the current service contract company, communicating with them on the management of Audio/Visual equipment throughout the building
  • Be an on-site technology troubleshooter, including but not limited to: Realm, Google Suite, Internet, etc.

Stewardship Campaign Creation

  • Create a brochure, letter, pledge card, and logo each year.
  • Work with Head of Staff and Stewardship committee to create cohesive materials

Ensure confidentiality of all sensitive information across all communications activities

Skills and Knowledge Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, or related field or equivalent work experience
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, graphic design
  • Strong knowledge of WordPress and web publishing tools and processes
  • Facility with social media and marketing software (Constant Contact, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Canva)
  • Experience with live streaming video content
  • Mac and PC proficiency with strong skills in Adobe Creative Cloud programs, including Premiere Pro and InDesign
  • Proficiency in connectional programs, including Zoom and Google Workspace

  • Works independently and is able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Takes initiative and is innovative; always trying to improve the model
  • Sets deadlines and pivots quickly as needed with changing demands and expectations
  • Is open and receptive to ideas and feedback and works well with others
  • Being a member of a faith tradition is not required

Hours

  • Full-time, Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm
  • Occasional Sunday responsibilities with accompanying flex time

Salary

  • $39,000-$42,000 a year
