The Social Media and Digital Marketer – Hispanic Ministry will work directly with the Regional Coordinator, Hispanic Ministry, to maintain and expand Lutheran Hour Ministries’ Spanish-language ministry programs carried out in the North America Region. This position will support and advance all ongoing and new initiatives seeking to engage Spanish-speaking people in the North America Region, and when appropriate beyond, with the Gospel of Jesus Christ in order to fulfill the mission of Lutheran Hour Ministries.

  • Using social media marketing platforms, tools, and cutting-edge expertise, support all ongoing and new ministry programs and activities that seek to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to Spanish-language speakers in the North America Region.
  • Effectively participate in planning and ideation for social media and digital marketing of any new and all ongoing Spanish-language ministry activities and programming.
  • Create and manage social media content, marketing campaigns and advertising for Spanish-language ministry programs and activities.
  • Using social media and digital marketing, effectively generate and support the growth of LHM’s Spanish-language audience through strategic targeting of all Spanish-language ministry programs and activities.
  • Effectively expand LHM’s use of social media platforms to support ongoing ministry programs and activities as well as reach new audiences with the Gospel.
  • Work in conjunction with Marketing and Communications to develop Spanish-language marketing content to support ongoing marketing campaigns to LHM’s entire constituency.
  • Maintain and report in a timely manner the statistical records on Spanish-language digital ministry and program channels.
  • In conjunction with the Regional Coordinator, Hispanic Ministry, assess and evaluate all social media Spanish-language ministry programs and activities.
  • As needed, effectively translate materials from Spanish-English or English-Spanish to support Spanish-language ministry programs and activities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Passionate and energetic about proclaiming the saving news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to mass audiences across North America and beyond.
  • Bilingual and bicultural: Spanish language as native tongue; demonstrated proficiency in cross-cultural engagement, especially between Hispanics and Anglos generally understood.
  • Familiar with cultural issues common among the different US Hispanic audiences.
  • Bachelor’s degree with focus on Communications, Digital and Social Media, and/or Marketing. Some post graduate education preferred.
  • 3-5 years’ experience using social media and digital marketing to sustain and grow audiences for programming and/or products.
  • Knowledge of Search Engine Optimization practices (SEO).
  • Ability to use analytical tools of the most widely used social media platforms (e.g., Google, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, WhatsApp) for collecting metrics, assessing campaigns, and targeting new or unique audiences.
  • Ability to use promotional tools of the most widely used social media platforms for advertising and lead generation campaigns.
  • Willingness to maintain knowledge of industry best practices and endeavor always to stay on the cutting edge of social media marketing platforms and techniques.
  • Willingness to travel within North America region and when strategically fruitful, beyond.
  • Strong organizational and cooperation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to interface with a variety of people.
  • Well organized, with ability to administer programs and plans.
  • Able to work creatively and to deadlines, as well as in a team environment.
  • Flexible, teachable, mature in Christian formation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Member of a Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod congregation and faithfully supports the Synod’s mission and theology.
  • Christian theological training (preferably Lutheran)
