JOB SUMMARY

Under general direction and in collaboration with Saint Louis University Marketing and Communications, the Digital Engagement Coordinator initiates, assesses, and produces written and visual content to serve the needs of the Doisy College of Health Sciences (DCHS). This includes designing and deploying effective digital communication strategies for traditional, social and digital media; compiling and analyzing data on the effectiveness of digital communication strategies, including digital communication marketing results; creating digital communications pieces to promote Doisy College of Health Sciences programs, including video and online content and related materials; creating digital announcements and digital advertisements that align with University branding; promoting people, programs, events, activities, and college-level initiatives; and coordinating various methods of message delivery.

The Digital Engagement Coordinator will support Doisy College of Health Sciences Office of Marketing, Communications, Recruitment, and Engagement in collaboration with Saint Louis University Marketing and Communications in elevating Doisy College of Health Sciences programs by generating content and producing videos and written pieces to deploy across the school’s social and digital media platforms, including press releases, newsletters, and the college’s website. The position will also work closely with staff in the Dean’s Office to effectively communicate and engage with current and prospective Doisy College of Health Sciences students and other key constituents through various platforms, including digital and social media; reporting on key growth goals and metrics; assisting in crisis monitoring and response; providing high-level and professional customer service; assisting in the creation of digital marketing assets for social media; upholding SLU’s social media guidelines; and providing support and training to staff, faculty and student influencers across various programs in the college.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Responsibilities
 

  • Produces and monitors written and visual digital content (earned, owned, paid) for the Doisy College of Health Sciences (DCHS) official social and digital media accounts.
  • Monitors the performance of digital engagement strategies and outcomes through data analytics and other bench-marking data.
  • Supports and provides training to departments and programs in the college on their social and digital media presence and in upholding SLU’s social media guidelines.
  • Assists in crisis response and monitoring; creates and deploys effective DCHS communications and responses to provide high-level customer service.
  • Works with student influencers and other authentic content contributors to cultivate content for DCHS earned, owned, and paid social media platforms.
  • Works with faculty and staff to market and communicate DCHS programs across various digital platforms, including the college’s website. Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Existing and emerging social media platforms (i.e., Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Snapchat) and monitoring/scheduling services (Hootsuite, Sprout, Loomly). Graphic design for social media.

Basic photography and videography skills. Content planning and strategy. Advanced writing, editing, and proofreading skills. Knowledge of Adobe Suite/Canva. Ability to work within a content management system.

Strong interpersonal/human relations skills. Customer service skills. Ability to recognize trends in digital media communications and marketing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree; supplemented with two (2) years of related experience.
