Reporting Relationships
Director - Investment Operations reports to AVP- Investment Research while also supporting and having regular deliverables to the Vice President (VP) & Chief Investment Officer (CIO).

Essential job Functions
Investment Operations, Reporting & Monitoring
Manage all operational aspects of the Plans including performance reporting, liquidity management and reconciliations
Manages custodial relationship and the on-line custodial system for Plan assets.
Reviews communications to/from external investment managers, investment custodian, and investment consultants regarding investment transactions within the Plans.
Oversee liquidity management and forecasting including execution of all cash transactions, capital calls and distributions.
Manage the execution of all transition, onboarding, rebalancing, and overlay activity.
Manages data retention of all investment related documentation.
Responsible for all facets of investment/general ledger accounting, performance reporting and budgeting.
Supports VP & CIO, AVP - Investment Research and other staff as directed by VP & CIO, with presentation materials, data or information requests, and ad hoc or regular analyses.
Reconcile stock distributions from private equity portfolio.
Monitors and implements regulatory changes that may affect Plan investments.
Oversees the preparation of audit workpapers for internal/external auditors and prepares the investment footnotes for the Concordia Plans annual financial statements.
Supports AVP- Finance with various aspects of the correspondent banking system.
Investment Management – Public and Private Markets
Works directly with staff, investment consultant, and Investment Committee (IC) of the Concordia Plans Board of Trustees in administering the investment management programs of the Concordia Plans including, but not limited to, investment strategies, policies, procedures and guidelines.
Collaborates with the VP & CIO and AVP - Investment Research with due diligence in evaluating and monitoring external investment managers. This includes review of key personnel, investment process, operations, investment performance, conflicts of interest, and compliance with investment guidelines and policies for all Plans.
Responsible for taking the minutes of the IC of the Concordia Plans Board of Trustees and other Committees as needed.
Review and approves capital calls and distributions for private equity and/or real asset investments and prepares foreign exchange transactions if needed.
Education and Experience
Minimum of Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other related field of study and a minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible institutional investment experience.
Experience in both defined benefit and defined contribution plans with assets exceeding $1 billion is preferred.
Experience in institutional real asset or private equity investments, desired.
Knowledge of insurance and/or employee benefits, desired.
Significant professional designation, certification or degree, such as CPA, CFA, CFP or MBA, is preferred.
Competencies
High capability to research and analyze complex investment data.
Strong oral and written communication skills—ability to present to executive-level management and investment committee of organizational board.
Proven integrity, discretion and judgment in confidential matters.
Must be capable of prioritizing, planning, and carrying out multiple tasks.
Advanced level of knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Capable and able to work under pressures of time limitations.
Ability to function as a team player within a small group.
Willingness and ability to travel
