Essential Functions.

  • Work with Associate Pastor and Growing Young team to provide ministry oversite for children and family ministry areas, recruit ministry volunteers and receive support in needed areas. Supervise, support, coordinate, train volunteers serving in educational, worship and fellowship programs for children and their families, including:
  • Learning Hour
  • Precious Ones Nursery, 0-3 years, during Worship services
  • Schedule teachers for FUSE class, 6th-12th grades
  • Coordinate summer intergenerational activities
  • Hire Nursery Staff. Interview and Train Caregivers, Use Planning Center Online (PCO) to write schedule
  • Worship Bags: order materials, check bag supplies, rotate materials from Room 14/16
  • Children’s Worship: plan and coordinate children’s worship, communicate with volunteers to clarify questions prior to lesson, provide materials
  • “Order of the Cross”/ Acolytes: Create Acolyte schedule, check all material in closet in Gathering space
  • Serve as a staff liaison to the MOPS (Mother of Pre-School ministry)
  • Special events, service, and outreach for children: Trunk or Treat, Easter Egg Hunt, Cookies with Santa, Fall Kick-off, Faith Family and Fun (F3 ministry), and others
  • Work with ministry team to teach First Communion instruction.
  • Vacation Bible School, 0 years – 5th grade. Provide staff leadership in conjunction with the VBS ministry team.
  • Work to ensure that existing children’s ministry is sustainable, dynamic, and growing.
  • Establish and implement annual goals, reviews and spend plans.
  • Maintain records, operating manuals, and safety procedures.
  • Envision and develop new programs and events for children, utilizing volunteer leaders whenever possible.
  • Collaborate with the preschool ministry director (preschool is administered separately)
  • Furnish publicity for ongoing congregational communications, monthly reports to the youth council representative and an annual report for the congregational meeting
  • Attend weekly staff meetings. Collaborate with other staff
  • Communication: Create clear communication through Multi-Media Outlets: weekly newsletters, PCO, Facebook, and other social media platforms to showcase upcoming events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Verbal and Written Communication: Ensure that the congregation, council, volunteers, and staff are kept informed of relevant information. Able to deliver or write a succinct message clearly, articulately and with emotion and tone appropriate to the context.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Compliance and “clear” report with background checks done on a regular basis by the church.
  • Undergraduate degree in early education, youth ministry, or other related field is desired.
  • Participation in the life and ministry of the congregation is required.
  • Duties require evening and weekend work.
  • Compliance with Living Lord policies, procedures, and the Employee Handbook.
  • Valid drivers’ license and ability to lift 25 pounds.
  • Ability to write/design curriculum appropriate for infant-5th grade
  • Proficiency in digital communications.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
