Job Duties:

1.Partners with senior management throughout the University and recommends strategic development and training opportunities to maximize human capital and organizational effectiveness. Will partner with HR Consultants and senior management to support effective Change Management strategies: including effective communication strategies, identifying barriers to implementing the change, and identifying key individual critical to the success of change implementation.

2.Manages the delivery of learning and development to match skills sets identified through training needs assessment or in conjunction with major initiatives; oversees leadership development; leads the development of new educational programs and the modification of existing programs. Responsible for determining appropriate delivery of content through internal or external resources.

3.Devises and evaluates measurements of training effectiveness. Utilize both qualitative and quantitative data to understand behavior change and the impact it had on key metrics.

4.Develops appropriate recognition systems for the University community to support continuous improvement in workplace culture. Align recognition with University Mission, Values, and Vision.

5.Manages Learning and Development cyclical events such as the performance appraisal process and the university climate survey. Communicates such timelines with university employees, facilitates strong customer service and identifies additional opportunities to market and communicate learning and development programs.

6.Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree, with master’s preferred; supplemented with six (6) years of directly related HR and/or L&D experience.

Saint Louis University requires COVID-19 vaccinations and a booster dose for all students, staff, and faculty who are physically present on our St. Louis campuses. As a prospective and/or a new employee at Saint Louis University, you will be/are required to comply with the University’s vaccination protocol. Proof of full vaccination is required before the start of employment in order to work at Saint Louis University. If you are not vaccinated, you are required to begin the vaccination process at the time of your first day of employment and submit proof of full vaccination within 30 days of your start date. Exemptions may be granted on the grounds of religious beliefs or medical circumstances. Failure to comply with the vaccine requirement within 30 days of an employee’s start date will result in termination of the employment. Proof of vaccine will be submitted through an online portal made available to you during your Workday onboarding tasks.

The University will require all students, faculty and staff to obtain a booster vaccine dose prior to their start date, This applies to:

  • All adults over the age of 18 years who completed their vaccine series with Pfizer or Moderna at least 6 months ago.
  • Those who received the J&J vaccine at least two months ago.
