Missionary Recruitment Manager - LCMS Office of International Mission

Responsibility and Reporting Relationships
The Missionary Recruitment Manager will act as the primary recruiter for lay missionaries for OIM and report to the Director of Missionary Recruitment.
Essential Job Functions

Recruitment
Serve as a primary lead for lay recruitment.
Identify and develop strategies and programs for future candidates.
Identify talent and prioritize the list of those to pursue vacancy positions.
Utilize tools to assist in the assessment process
Develop and maintain a recruitment pipeline that extends to the future
Leverage the resources available to expand the reach of OIM recruitment.
Make recommendations to OIM Executive staff regarding individuals who might have the capacity to serve a broader future role.
Review the vetting process.
Oversee the Missionary Recruitment Team when the Director, of Missionary Recruitment is absent
Collaborates with OIM, ONM, and other boards to identify potential candidates.
Visits congregations, district events, etc. to recruit
Actively engages Concordia University System institutions to recruit suitable lay missionary candidates by visiting at appropriate times during the year to maximize efforts.
Assists in supporting a broad-reaching recruiting network, including but not limited to CUS, districts, and individual congregations.
Willing to travel around 7-10 days a month to actively engage districts, conventions, and colleges for recruitment opportunities.
Works in close conjunction with the Director of Missionary Recruitment to determine the specific personnel needs of the field and to recruit appropriate individuals to fill those positions
Guide candidates in understanding the recruitment process
General
Oversee recruiting metrics
Collaborate with church worker initiatives
Event design
Pursue professional certifications by the organization.
Contributing to OIM projects as needed
Participate in new missionary orientation
Willingness to work on other tasks as assigned
Education and Experience
Active, in good standing, member of a Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod congregation, faithful to the Holy Scriptures and the Lutheran Confessions, and supportive of the Synod’s Constitution, Bylaws, and policies.
International or Missionary experience preferred.
Experience and proven record of working with college students preferred.
Experience in recruitment preferred.
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Proven effectiveness in associating with various persons in social settings, especially college-aged students.
Willingness to participate in collegial theological dialogue with others.
Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
Willingness to travel as requested.
You have demonstrated the ability to work harmoniously in a team environment.
She demonstrated interpersonal communication skills, including verbal and written, attentive and active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, and advising and counseling skills.
You have a proven ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Experience with MS Office preferred with the ability to learn new software.
