About the Position:
Concord Church is prayerfully and eagerly looking for the God-chosen person to lead our student ministry. This is a unique opportunity for a dynamic leader and communicator who is ready to invest in and build upon a solid, thriving youth ministry.
Responsibilities:
Invest in meaningful relationships with students (both middle school and high school), volunteer leaders, and parents of teens.
Provide leadership and vision for the volunteer team in student ministry
Be the lead communicator and architect of the student mid-week services. This would include the following:
Developing engaging and theologically rich lessons and teaching series
Creating attractive environments for students and their friends
Utilizing our broadcast platform to connect with students who choose to attend online
Provide uplifting and inspiring worship moments through music, reflection, prayer time, etc.
Developing a consistent follow-up strategy for guests.
Seeking ways to invite new students to respond to the Gospel message.
Oversee and regulate small groups ministry:
Provide or purchase an excellent curriculum
Develop and train new and existing teachers
Encourage good follow-up and connection with students, leaders, and parents
Guide students to mission and service opportunities within the larger body of Concord.
Qualifications:
Have a personal commitment to and relationship with Jesus Christ and live a lifestyle by Christian principles.
Maintain the highest Christian standards in personal and professional life by the Concord Policy Handbook.
Sign and support, both publicly and personally, Concord’s Doctrinal Covenant.
Demonstrate the following interpersonal skills:
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to freely give and receive input
Ability to deal with a diverse range of people
Capacity to encourage and motivate others
Experience in coordinating and managing volunteers
Ability to handle stressful situations with grace and good communication
Exhibit good organizational skills and the ability to handle a variety of tasks
Possess a high degree of comfort with technology and web-based ministry
Demonstrate the ability to embrace the organizational purpose – To CONNECT all people to Jesus Christ, so they can GROW in their faith and SERVE others.
Demonstrate flexibility in tasks related to the overall purpose of Concord Church.
Request Skills:
Experience in leading a youth group ministry
Completed (or almost completed) A Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical Studies (or a similar degree)
Proficiency with technical equipment, including sound and computer-generated equipment and worship and presentation software.
Ability to identify, recruit, and develop potential leaders for Student Ministry
Solid speaking, writing, and preaching skills.
Possess an educated, but growing theological hunger for God’s word
Preferred Qualifications:
Have experience working with Planning Center
Have a musical background of some sort
Have experience with ProPresenter
Duties:
Oversee the entire Midweek Student program
Oversee the Sunday morning small group ministry
Plan and execute key yearly calendar events (including retreats, mission trips, etc.)
Exists as a team player with the Senior Staff in weekly meetings
Maintain regular and informed communication with staff, students, volunteer leaders, and parents
Attend weekly senior staff meetings.
Manage the entire student ministry annual budget
In conjunction with the Senior Pastor, provide an annual budget forecast.
