The Visual Storyteller is responsible for the production of all videos to be used by The Gathering. This includes, but is not limited to: sermon capture, worship videos, pre-service videos, next steps, interviews, ministry highlights, and promotional pieces. The videos will tell The Gathering’s story through the production of on-brand videos and contextualized stories that support them.
This individual should be capable of providing end-to-end storytelling including story identification, storyboarding, capturing raw video, conducting interviews and capturing B-Roll. The Visual Storyteller is responsible for editing content for brand awareness, social media, and marketing use. The Visual Storyteller brings a proactive, strategically-minded approach to creating videos that resonate with multiple audiences and support The Gathering brand.
EXPECTED OUTCOMES:
- Ability to independently manage the shoot, including story identification, interviews, lighting, sound, power, and post-production for professional quality videos.
- Able to manage production needs in a wide variety of settings from studio to off-site locations.
- Working knowledge of video cameras and a variety of camera equipment.
- Understands brand, and can easily identify, capture, and communicate core messages.
- Knowledge of current video equipment and processes, content curation, and distribution systems.
- Plans and organizes shoots at events to efficiently and effectively collect raw content and B-Roll for stills and final edited videos.
- Edits video for brand, website, social media, digital ads, conferences, large format, and more.
- Writes, co-writes, and edits scripts for videos, podcasts, and other media as needed.
- Provides creative vision from conception to completion (trimming footage, storyboarding, sound editing, color correction and more).
- Works with staff in other departments to assist in the development of materials that communicate The Gathering brand.
- Can work independently or collaborate with others to identify opportunities and create content for strategic multi-purpose use.
- Manages end-to-end production, from concept to creation to distribution.
- Effectively communicates creative strategy to others
- Responsible for the care and maintenance of all traveling equipment, ensuring its safety while traveling

- Direct
- Recruit, Lead and Manage staff, volunteers, and contract workers (as needed) to produce creative video content for use in worship, social media, and/or other ministry areas.This includes, but is not limited to shooting, editing and animating of:

- Continuously learn and lead staff efforts to leverage video and media in new and compelling ways to engage new people.
- Lead regular team meetings for the purposes of development and team building.
- Ultimate
- Produce compelling video content.
- Create and maintain a central media library.
- Collaborate with Communications Coordinator and/or Communications Director to produce video and media communications.
- Produce an excellent weekly Online Worship experience
- Collaborate with ministry leaders to enhance Online Worship
- Manage a team of Online Worship moderators
- Develop a Media Production Team to assist with video recording, editing, and storytelling
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
- Familiarity with Mac computers, software, and audio-visual technology.
- Experience with video shooting.
- Experience with video editing.
- Knowledge in Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, Photoshop, After Effects, Media Encoder, and Illustrator.
- Provide instruction on best practices, basic troubleshooting, and routine maintenance team members.

Pay: $48,000.00 - $56,000.00 per year
