Position Summary: The AfterSchool site leader is the person who is in charge of the day to day ministry at the assigned AfterSchool program. The Site leader is also a community pastor, this means that they keep a pulse on the neighborhood and are expected to be a part of the neighborhood.
Primary responsibilities:
- Watching over and caring for the volunteers at the assigned program
- Ensure the space is presentable and ready for designated activities
- Handle any conflict between youth that attends the program
- Be present at all assigned programming
- Attend all required meetings
- Live within close proximity to assigned program
- Build relationships with the surrounding community
- Support others on the AfterSchool team
- Mentor/Coach youth
- Work 35+ hours a week with flexibility
- Agreement and comply with BLOC employee handbook
- Raise support for full time salary
Required skills and experience:
- Conflict management and resolution
- A passion for and experience with youth
- Experience managing resources
- Basic de escalation techniques
- Leadership skills
- Leadership experience is preferred but not required
- A willingness for innovation
- A relationship with Jesus and a desire to share Him with others
- A willingness to learn
