Hyde Park Community UMC Preschool, a non-profit, play-based preschool program, is hiring a part-time Assistant Preschool Teacher for the following class:
- 5-Day (Monday-Friday) 3-5 year-olds
The hours for this position are 8:30am-Noon.
HPCUMC Preschool has strong beliefs and philosophies regarding child-led, play-based curriculum and empathic, respectful interactions with young children. We are looking for preschool teachers who embody these same beliefs and will treat our preschoolers with the respect and love that they deserve.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Assisting with planning and implementing developmentally appropriate experiences for children
- On-going observing and assessing individual children and their needs
- Following all state licensing regulations at all times
- Participating in on-going staff training and professional development
- Developing mutually trusting relationships with families through daily communication and annual parent teacher conferences
Candidates must have experience working in an early childhood classroom with a play-based curriculum, along with developing developmentally appropriate lesson plans and portfolios. An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred but not required. Pay is based on education and experience.

Pay: $10,000.00 - $12,000.00 per year
