CHURCH OF THE NATIVITY OF OUR LORD, Cincinnati, OH, has an immediate opening for Cantor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Leads the congregation in song: hymns, psalms, responses, and mass settings.
2. Sings occasional vocal solos for preludes, offertories, and meditations.
3. When necessary, sings descants and harmony with the adult choir.
4. Attends rehearsal before singing at Mass, Thursday, 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM.
5. Attends Mass prepared with the correct music and appropriate attire at the appointed time.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must have a pleasant singing voice; formal vocal training is preferred but not required.
2. The ability to read music.
3. Comfortable singing both traditional and contemporary music.
4. Available to sing at least once a month. Mass times are 5:15 PM on Saturday and 11:00 AM on Sunday.
INTERESTED CANDIDATES:
This is a paid position and reports directly to the Director of Music Ministry.
Pay: $75.00 Per Mass | $25.00 Per 1 Hour Rehearsal
