Position Responsibilities:
- Cook food and prepare beverages according to menus, special dietary or nutritional restrictions, and numbers of portions to be served
- Serve food and beverages to facility residents, employees, and guests in an appealing manner
- Bake breads, rolls, and other pastries
- Clean and inspect kitchen equipment, appliances, and work areas in order to ensure cleanliness and functional operation
- Compile and maintain records of food use and expenditures
- Take inventory of supplies and reorder as necessary
- Maintain compliance with all food service regulations and adhere to safe food handling practices
- Other duties as required
Position Qualifications:
Required
· High school diploma or related experience
· At least two years related food service experience
· Ability to operate food preparation and dishwashing machinery
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred
· Prior experience in a healthcare or religious organization
· Understanding and appreciation of the traditions and culture associated with the Sisters of Mercy
· Familiarity with the Catholic Church structures and teaching
