JOB SUMMARY

Facility Team Members ensure that the building is clean and safe and that everything functions to its best. The facilities team is responsible for all building cleaning, safety, and maintenance. They support all ministries (Kids Club, mainstage, etc.). This role reports to the Facilities Manager.

Each facilities team member is responsible for the collective oversight and development of our volunteer teams that work within our facilities to create and maintain the best community and environmental standards while our guests are on the property.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Provide a pastoral approach and service to all who enter the building.
  • Lead a team of volunteers with the ability to move them according to the spiritual growth framework.
  • Perform semi-skilled preventive maintenance and repairs in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and painting areas.
  • Perform cleaning duties as outlined in the Cleaning checklist.
  • Perform groundskeeping responsibilities in all seasons, including emptying exterior trash cans as required, maintaining surrounding sidewalks, and keeping entranceways free from debris, including snow removal.
  • Perform setups and breakdowns for events and special activities.
  • All team members are well versed in the Emergency Preparedness plan and are ready to lead emergency coordination and assist as needed to ensure the safety and security of everyone at a Crossroads site.
  • Maintain relationships with vendors and ensure services in contract terms are performed.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with staff and the public
  • Cast vision to volunteers, so they understand how performing the task fits into the bigger Crossroads vision.
  • Develop authentic, ongoing relationships with leaders and volunteers of ministry teams and their administrative teams.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to manage multiple tasks.
  • Organized, disciplined with priorities, meticulous attention to detail.
  • Experience with Mac/PC, Internet Explorer, and Google Docs.
  • Work collaboratively with all ministries and site teams.
  • Ability to identify and use hand tools and machinery used in various building maintenance trades. Must be willing to be trained on all equipment used

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Ability to lift to 50 pounds.
  • This physical job requires team members to walk up to 5 miles daily, bend, crawl, and branbrand extended periods.
  • Ability to work comfortably on a ladder 10 feet high.
  • Ability to organize work, set priorities, and work independently.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights or evenings, holidays, and special events. Length of shifts varies and may exceed 8 hours in one day.
  • Must have reliable transportation to work.

WORK SCHEDULE

  • This role functions during building hours from 5:30 am to 11 pm. Several shifts cover the building hours.
  • Team members may work full-time (40 hours per week) or part-time (24 hours per week).
  • This role involves weekday and weekend shifts.
  • There may be exceptions during busy weekends and high-impact events such as Super Bowl, Easter, and other events.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent work experience.
Must have basic knowledge of vendor management, facilities, and maintenance.
Must know workplace safety practices and safe handling/lifting procedures.
Experience with Mac, Internet, and Google Docs.
