Accountability: Reports to the Rector
Hours: Sundays - 2-4/week *
*General Summary: This position assists the worship ministry by preparing and leading music in collaboration with the Director of Children and Family Ministries. The candidate brings expertise in music leadership within a framework of shared ministry and Christian values.
Duties and Responsibilities
Worship Leadership
1. Collaborates with the Rector and the Director of Children and Family Ministries to prepare liturgically appropriate music for the season/Sunday morning worship (an informal service that features easy-to-learn songs for children and families).
2. Leads sound & chord check with other musicians in advance of the service each week; rehearses musicians more extensively at least 1x/a month.
3. Shares leadership with the Rector in introducing music and encouraging participation from the children and adults in the congregation.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
We have a skilled music leader who can play at least one instrument. Experience in the Christian tradition. Must be available to work on Sunday mornings.
