Hospitality & Connecting Coordinator

This position exists primarily to equip Hospitality & Connecting teams by providing a hospitable, organized, safe, and respectful environment for all attendees. This is accomplished by recruiting, training to equip all team volunteers (cafe, team host, greeters, ushers, coffee brewers, others as needed, etc…) for weekend services and special events. This role reports to the Hospitality Director.

This position oversees the assimilation process in which people become connected to VCC and engaged in the mission and vision of VCC. This position provides vision casting, supervision and development of the Assimilation process. This is accomplished by recruiting, training, and mentoring Connecting Volunteers and providing training to equip Info Areas, Welcome Center, Weekday Welcome Team and Administrative volunteers to provide clear and easy on ramps for those seeking to be connected. This position also works alongside staff to ensure handoffs to Ministries are followed up with in a manner that gives the guest/attendee the best opportunity to connect with that Ministry.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide oversight of Vineyard Cincinnati Church Connecting Process
  • Be the primary recruiter for Vineyard Hospitality Teams
  • Provide regularly scheduled/ongoing training for Hospitality volunteers.
  • Provide appreciation and care for all volunteer teams.
  • Consistently evaluate individual volunteers to provide quality control and regular improvements.
  • Recruit, train, care for and oversee volunteer teams to facilitate desired environment. Includes identifying and filling the necessary number of roles, as well as implementing policies and training material created in collaboration with Director.
  • Communicate with appropriate staff to ensure good teamwork regarding various facets of what happens in and out of the auditorium (Communion teams, Facilities team, weekend requests, special requests, etc)
  • Tracks and follows up with volunteers ensuring team members feel valued and cared for.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
  • Establish and maintain a strong and effective working relationship with Director overseeing the Connecting Process
  • Communicate accurately the vision and values of VCC and senior leadership to volunteers and newcomers.
  • Provide regular reports to the Director as determined by and at the request of the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Reports to Director.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION High School Diploma/GED

EXPERIENCE 2 years minimum of volunteer development in church/education environment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Sitting, Standing, Walking, Seeing, Hearing, Pushing, Pulling, Lifting
