JOB SUMMARY

This position administers and maintains all employee health, welfare and retirement plans for staff. This person is responsible for supporting our recruiting process, administrative tasks, and should maintain a welcoming, highly productive culture. This role is part time with benefits, exempt, 25 hours/week.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Administration of Benefits

  • Administers employee health, and retirement plans for Crossroads. Benefit programs include Retirement, medical/dental/vision, disability and other benefits associated with these listed.
  • Responsible for the administration of Crossroads Leave of absence plan, including FMLA, COBRA and Short and Long term disability.

Administrative Support

  • Main contact for payment of invoices, in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Reviews invoices for errors and submits payments timely.
  • Proactively find ways to reduce payroll/benefit costs.
  • Manages the employee onboarding process from the creation of offer letters to meeting with new hires during Orientation.
  • Responsible for maintaining accuracy of the employee handbook. This includes writing, revision and editing the handbook on an annual rhythm.
  • Administers new hire, exit surveys and other related HR data (both online and physical). Looks for trends in employee feedback to ensure a healthy culture. Proactively reacts and responds to trends.

Human Resources Support

  • Recruits staff from sourcing to the hire. Conducts interviews, makes recommendations to managers and clearly articulates the vision of Crossroads to potential staff.
  • Assists with conflict resolution, to include terminations and general “block and tackle” staff concerns.
  • Provides wise counsel to senior leadership on staff, using knowledge of HR law and practical and logical reasoning.
  • Creates and conducts training and development programs based on the needs of the staff, to include supervisory and benefits training.
  • Resolves employee complaints to director as needed. Act as liaison with various insurance carriers and fosters effective relationships with client representatives. Keeps management advised of potential problem areas and recommends/implements solutions, as appropriate.

Compliance

  • Ensures compliance with all state and federal employment laws, and communicates these policies in a knowledgeable and confident manner.
  • Maintains legal and neat employment records.
  • Stays up to date on all HR related topics, such as Employment Law and Affordable Care Act.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Required Skills:

  • Strong strategic planning and analytical skills.
  • Highly efficient and organized.
  • Superior verbal/written skills. Good punctuation, spelling, grammar and attention to detail a must.
  • Ability to operate most standard office equipment.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentations.
  • Must commit to expectations detailed in the “I Promise” document, including using the bible as the ultimate standard of truth, practicing spiritual disciplines and pursuing personal purity.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Communications, Business, Psychology or equivalent relevant degree.
  • 2+ years of experience in a human resources related role

Physical Requirements:

  • Be able to lift 25 lbs. Moderate bending, kneeling, climbing. Good physical mobility is required. Able to sit in a chair for 2 hrs. at a time.
