Job Summary
The Kids’ Club Site Director is the primary advocate, coach, and front-line support to kids, families, and Kids’ Club volunteers at the site. Working with the Community Pastor, this person leads and trains teams of volunteers to execute the mission of Crossroads and Kids’ Club, helping kids, families, and volunteers experience God and grow in their faith. This role also translates experiences from Site Support to best fit the site context and provides feedback to Site Support Teams on effectiveness and needs as it relates to training, experiences, content, systems, etc.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Community Pastor and Site Team to reach, engage, and connect new families (connect events, new family follow-up, etc.)
  • Recruit and Train volunteer teams to effectively meet the goals of a weekend experience. This includes any prep prior to the weekend, meeting with key volunteers and leaders during the week, being present for and leading the Kids’ Club experiences on weekends.
  • Identify, train, and empower volunteer leaders to lead other volunteers
  • Ensure that all safety policies and practices are being followed
  • Identify, train and empower a Childcare Coordinator to manage childcare events.
  • Create a safe, fun, and welcoming environment for weekend services and childcare events. (physical spaces, supplies, equipment, etc.)
  • Teams this person would own:
  • Weekend age group teams (Nursery-5th grade)
  • Support teams (Welcome and Operations, Prep, Adventure Club, Onboarding)

Qualifications:

  • Experience leading people and able to motivate and mobilize others to action
  • Ability to supervise and mentor others; help guide through supportive relationships
  • Able to navigate difficult and/or sensitive conversations and situations
  • Team player who is flexible, process-oriented, encouraging, and supportive
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • Demonstrate and leverage strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Volunteer experience at a Crossroads Site is beneficial but not required
  • Able to work weekends and some evenings

  • A strong relationship with Jesus and commitment to Crossroads’ vision and mission
  • A passion for and understanding of the unique way kids and students are vital to the mission of Crossroads
  • Enjoys spending time in settings directly interacting with kids and adults
  • Must be teachable, flexible, responsible, and dependable with strong follow-through skills
  • Ability to see the big picture and simultaneously attend to details
  • Agree with, sign, and adhere to the “I Promise” document and Kids’ Club Child Protection Policy
  • High initiative and strong interpersonal skills

Physical Requirements

  • Able to work Sunday through Thursday at a physical site with the public.
  • Performs effectively under pressure, and against strict time constraints.
  • Must be able to walk up to 5 miles, standing, climbing, lifting, pulling, and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, and stooping as duties required.
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds and walk at least 5 miles per day
