Educational and Experiential Criteria:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work or Human Services field
  • State Licensed (preferred) or license eligible

Desired Skills, Experience, and Qualifications include:

  • Assessment, diagnosis (knowledge of DSM 5), and treatment of children and youth
  • Engagement skills with parents and school staff
  • Creative, flexible approach to meet the needs of both the student and the school
  • Case documentation
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
  • Computer skills are necessary.
  • Experience with children and families in the area of mental health, including the specialized area of school counseling in grades K-12
  • Experience working with diverse populations
  • Roman Catholic Preferred

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide mental health counseling in one high school.
  • Provide assessments, diagnosis, and treatment of referred children/youth by collecting background information, meeting with the student at school, and making recommendations to parents and teachers on the student’s behalf.
  • Make appropriate referrals to outside agencies, community services, and other resources.
  • Provide ongoing counseling for students when it is deemed urgent and productive.
  • Provide appropriate outreach to students and families (i.e., classroom presentations and parent awareness meetings.
  • Provide Comprehensive school interventions that meet the school’s needs.
  • Consult and coordinate with school personnel and other providers of services to students.
  • Meet for regular supervision with Administrative and Clinical Supervisors.
  • Maintain the best practices in counseling through consultation and supervision provided by the agency and through the clinician’s resources.
  • Keep all records current and comply with the quality assurance program and accreditation standards.
