Job Summary

The job of the Social Media Team Leader is to oversee all social media channels (both national and site) and team members to create an engaging digital audience experience and to increase audience engagement. This role also researches and analyzes social media trends to improve reach presence and campaign efficiency.

Roles and Responsibilities for Social Media Team Leader: Manage the people on the social media team. Responsible for the personal, spiritual and professional development for the team in addition to keeping their work on track to deliver team goals. Oversight of scholars, when available.

  • Leads the Planning, strategy, and goal-setting for each social platform
  • Oversee the team’s ability to create, curate, and publish relevant, original high-quality content for all channels.
  • Work with Social Media Creative Lead on all content for national and site channels
  • Work with Marketing Managers to develop strategy on specific campaigns.
  • Work with Reach Marketing Director to create advertising creative and copy.
  • Analyze social media campaigns with tracking systems to gather visitor data and determine efficacy and areas for social media campaign improvement.
  • Monitor and develop reports on “competitor” activity within social media spaces.
  • Work with graphic designers and videographers to approve final projects.
  • Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand, as set by Reach Marketing Director.
  • Manage communication and content curation with staff members and volunteer teams from each site or ministry team.
  • Monitor and implement trends in social media tools, applications, channels, design and strategy.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • 5+ years of social media experience is ideal but not required. Agency experience is a plus.
  • A self-starter and thrives in leading a team
  • Exceeds at building and maintaining relationships; builds trust and deals with conflict in healthy ways
  • Exceptional at setting expectations, planning, and delivering on commitments for self and direct reports
  • Excellent communicator verbal and written communication, copywriting experience a plus
  • Displays in-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and how each platform can be deployed in different scenarios
  • Ability to write within the Crossroads tone and voice
  • Must commit to expectations detailed in the “I Promise” document, including using the bible as the ultimate standard of truth, practicing spiritual disciplines and pursuing personal purity


Scheduling / Travel Requirements:

  • This position works Monday through Friday from 9-5 typically. But because social media works best "in the moment," this role requires a flexible schedule working evenings and weekends as events are happening. Also, this person must be available for special projects and all-hands-on-deck events
  • Minimal travel

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up 25 to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to manage multiple jobs and priorities at the same time
  • Needs to be able to concentrate on tasks for extended periods of time
