East Ohio Conference of The UMC to share perspectives on how to take care of God's creation

The East Ohio Conference of The UMC will hold the "Perspectives: Caring for God's Creation" on Saturday, April 22, at United Methodist of Berea.

At this event, the conference encourages the community through acts of devoted service and reverence, and to rise to the stewardship challenge.

Perspectives: Caring for God's Creation Event 

Perspectives: Caring for God's Creation aims to educate the public and the church on how to deal with the climate crisis. 

According to Eventbrite, the event will feature talks by experts and local organizers who will discuss how to create a "more ecologically equitable and sustainable" society for all people.

Dr. Tim Van Meter, associate professor at Methodist Theological School in Ohio and coordinator of Ecological Initiatives, will deliver the keynote address. 

EarthKeepers and authors of Wake Up World: A Curriculum on the Climate Crisis for Faith and Community Groups, Rev. Dr. Bob and Anita Dygert-Gearheart, will speak in the afternoon.

Per the post, people have been entrusted with the care of God's good creation, the Earth. As believers, they must be accountable for mistreating God's creation.

For EOCUMC, It is time for everyone to step up and show their stewardship through acts of tenderness and reverence.

There will be various breakout sessions at the event, where they will tackle the environment. The $10 registration fee covers the cost of lunch. On-demand babysitting services are offered.
