WHOM WE SEEK:
The Assistant to Advancement will support the advancement of Saint Michael and All Angels’ (SMAA) fundraising efforts, including annual and capital. Reporting to the Director of Advancement, the position is responsible for donor database management, reporting and related duties to support an increase in SMAA’s engaged donor pipeline and the achievement of departmental campaign goals.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Serve as primary liaison for the donor management software, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the database.
· Support preparation of best-in-class cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship materials, including timely gift acknowledgements and other donor correspondence.
· Create queries, exports, and reports (including document presentation and formatting) as requested; develop ongoing and monthly reporting to support advancement workflows, finance reconciliation, and inter-department goals.
· Assist with the scheduling of individual donor meetings as well as group cultivation and stewardship events.
· In collaboration with the Communications Department, support the creation of targeted lists and calendared communications for e-newsletters and print mailings, aligned with overall advancement strategies; monitor and provide data insight on response and attendance related to campaign events.
· Assist in managing department inventory, including collateral packets, correspondence stock, and event materials.
· Advise on and assist in implementing staff-wide culture of giving.
· Support SMAA activities and events as needed, occasionally to include nights and weekends; reliable transportation required.

CORE COMPETENCIES:
· 2-3 years of experience managing a development database at a non-profit
· Knowledge of donor cultivation cycle and donor-centric communications
· Experience working with appeals, campaigns, or event marketing
· Excellent analytical skills and experience with creating reports for leadership, including report layout and formatting
· Strong attention to detail, especially in proofreading and formatting reporting documents
